MLB Post-Season Pick 'Em, LCS Edition: One sweep short of a clean house, and we're onto that pennential part of the post-season. So squint like Phil Cuzzi and make your picks inside.

Andre Ethier goes 5 for 12 and picks up 16 total bases on his way to a big ol' 1.905 OPS. Really too bad nobody picked him. Also, the NL struck out 142 to the AL's... uh... 91. I really thought it'd be closer. Gotta start re-thinking my approach to bonus picks.

Please double-check your picks to make sure I got 'em right. Also, I'm doing some copying and pasting from last year's standings, and I can't believe that the LCS are starting a full week later. Ridiculous.

NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Begins Thursday, October 15

AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees
Begins Friday, October 16

THE BONUS

Pick the two pitchers, one for each league, who will have the lowest ERA in their respective LCS. Minimum 6.0 IP.

THE MATT STAIRS VERSUS THE JET STREAM BONUS PICK

Pick the league that will acquire more total bases in its LCS. Pick the differential as well.

Total points available: 4 (LCS picks) + 2 (Bonus) + 2 (Stairs/Jet Stream Bonus) = 8

Example pick:
Dodgers in 6.
Yankees in 5.
Kershaw, Kazmir.
AL +14

AL +3

I did absolutely awful the last round, so I either have an insane round now to catch up, or shoot for the Costanza. If you want to score some points, do the opposite of what I do.

  • Dodgers in 7
  • Yankees in 6
  • Broxton and Rivera
  • AL +18

As a Sox fan, I can't believe I'm typing this, but I think I'd rather the Yankees make the WS than the Angels. And lose to the Dodgers, the only team I don't mind winning out of the 4 left- the Phillies and Angels have had too recent a success, and the Yankees... well, yeah.

For the pitchers I picked the two closers from the teams I expect/hope to Lidge and Rivera, on the theory that in a long series they can potentially get 6+ IP in 6 or 7 games, and if they don't give up a run... there's your ERA leader. It's a risk mostly in that they might get 4 or 5 IP and not qualify. But Rivera in particular might have a multi-inning outing.

Yikes, sorry NoMich! The styling bullets of Hal's comment distracted me and I blurred right over yours.

Here is a rankings table of your very own. Take it home and love it like a pet rock.
