Verlander Dominates as the Tigers Advance to the ALCS: I think this is number one," Verlander said. "The two no-hitters are obviously up there, but that's something a little bit different. This is win or go home. My team needs me. And I was able to go out there and have one of the better performances I've had.

I think in an ordinary game where a no hitter was not on the line the scorer would rule it a hit. It is very hard to get a fielding error in the outfield if it does not hit your glove. But under the circumstances I think it would have been scored an error.

The Justice Department has ended its criminal case against Barry Bonds.

We used to have some wonderful discussions about Barry Bonds.

The 11th Annual chicobangs Memorial SpoFi CFL Pick 'Em

Another futile attempt begins. Maybe one of these days I'll familiarize myself with CFL scoring and actually have a justification for my margin choices.

Golden State Warriors Win NBA Title

I wonder how much longer the NBA will trot out Bill Russell to "hand out" the MVP award. He was literally being held up during the award presentation.

Has a member of the losing team ever won Finals MVP in the NBA? LeBron James is unquestionably the MVP of the series but I can't imagine the NBA being willing to give the MVP to a member of the losing team.

LeBron James Puts Cavaliers Up 2-1 on Warriors

But Barry Bonds was other-worldly: .356/.581/.978 in 74 plate appearances, so the narrative was pretty much Bonds vs everyone else.

In the World Series he put up an insane .471/.700/1.294 in 30 plate appearances!

James Scores Triple-Double as Cavs Even NBA Finals at 1

LeBron has averaged 42.4 minutes per game in his post-season career. Maybe he will wear down (especially after playing 46 and 50 minutes during the first two games) but he just seems to take it to another level in the playoffs.
