The Memories and Teams

National Basketball Association

I am an avid fan of the Pistons and have had the opportunity to attend several games during both the regular season and the playoffs. I am fortunate to have witnessed their title over the Lakers in 2004. The most painful game that I have ever witnessed in any sport came in the 2007 playoffs when LeBron James singlehandedly destroyed the Pistons in double overtime.

Major League Baseball

I am a major Tigers fan who is finally enjoying the joys of having a successful and competitive team throughout the summer. I had the priviledge to attend the majority of home playoff games in 2006, and witnessed the Tigers ALCS championship win. I also attended the 2005 All Star game. Also, I am a fan of the Atlanta Braves although I do not know when I became a fan or why I became one. Perhaps it was so I could have a winning team to root for in the summer.

National Hockey League

I am a strong follower of the Red Wings and have been fortunate enough enjoy their past four Stanley Cups. There are two games that stand out to me, the first being a regular season game against the Nashville Predators that would be the first time I witnessed the NHL's new overtime system, the shootout. Although the Wings lost, Datsyuk had an amazing goal and it was hands down the greatest hockey game I had ever been to. I also came within half a minute of watching the Wings hoist the cup in person when I attended Game Five of the Stanley Cup finals in 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Unfortunately the Pens tied it up and went on to win in the third overtime, which made the game extremely disappointing, not matter how exciting it had been.

NFL- Lions: This year is the year!

College Sports- University of Michigan: I am a diehard Michigan fan and am more passionate about their football team than any other team in sports. The National Championship win in 1997 was amazing, hopefully to be surpassed by a title in 2007. With my love of Michigan comes a hatred of Notre Dame, Michigan State, and the good-for-nothings down in Columbus.

Soccer Football- Arsenal: Not really a good reason for this one since my knowledge of the Premeirship is almost nonexistant, but I bought an Arsenal jersey in England. Thus, they are the team I "root" for.

CFL- Hamilton: They seem to me like the Lions of the CFL, giving me an obligation to "root" for them.

My Current Bandwagon Team- Nobody at the moment.

Things I Strongly Dislike: Brady Quinn, Troy Smith, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Ben Wallace, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, and though they aren't really good enough to even warrent consideration, Michigan State.

Even worse, I have to share fourth place, with a teenager. ;) (Hey YYM, at least the recent server move won't allow us to update our mediocrity in our profile.)

Well it could be worse, you could have been beaten by kid. I hope the customization comes back soon though, I haven't updated it in a while.

Pistons get Iverson for Billups, McDyess, Samb It appears the promised shake-up has come to the Pistons. The Pistons are expected to trade guard Chauncey Billups, forward Antonio McDyess and center Cheikh Samb to the Denver Nuggets for guard Allen Iverson, the Free Press has learned.

At the moment I am a fan of the trade. I'll go more in depth in a bit when I have some time.

Second place gah. I don't think I can win anything SportsFilter related. My trophy case is filled with second and third place trophies but it is sorely lacking of anything with a #1 on it.

Congrats Bo.

Fightin’ Phils are World Series champions After 28 years, and two days of waiting for the rain to stop so that Game 5 of the World Series could resume, the wait is over.

The Phillies are the champions.

I was pulling for the Rays but I'm still happy for the Phillies. I'm a fan of Cole Hamels and Chase Utley so it was nice to see them both win a championship. And who couldn't be happy for Jamie Moyer?

Best High School Football Stadiums Check out the photo gallery of the stadiums described, including, of course, Stadium Bowl, the cool stadium in Tacoma, Washington, which was seen in the Heath Ledger movie, "10 Things I Hate About You." Also look at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans, flooded by Hurricane Katrina.

posted by dyams at 08:24 PM on October 22

Those are some very nice stadiums. However I'm with Howard and jmd on this one. The millions spent on stadiums that nice could be spent elsewhere, especially when education has become such a low priority (or at least it has in Michigan).

That said, the number one stadium is huge. Kelly-Shorts stadium at Central Michigan University was about the same size until they added on the student section which seats about ten-thousand more.

Five Reasons to Watch the World Series So it's not Manny being Manny and shots of Ben Affleck sitting in the stands. It is still going to be a great series for all the right reasons.

At the start of the postseason I made myself a list on who I would like to win the World Series. The Rays were at the top of that list and the Phillies second so I am really excited about this series. Both teams have a lot of young talent and it should be a high energy series. I will be pulling hard for the Rays, after watching the ALCS I've become a fan.
