Verlander Dominates as the Tigers Advance to the ALCS: I think this is number one," Verlander said. "The two no-hitters are obviously up there, but that's something a little bit different. This is win or go home. My team needs me. And I was able to go out there and have one of the better performances I've had.

It Runs In the Family: Chandler, Jon, and Arthur Jones have come a long way from wrestling in the basement. Soon their family will boast two NFL defensive linemen and a UFC champion fighter.

Only Two Number One Picks in History Have Never Made the Majors: For 2004 number one pick Matt Bush, this summer would be when he finally joined his peers in cracking the major leagues. His long-standing battle with alcoholism, however, had other ideas.

Brendan Smith had a big role in the Blackhawks' success.
Jokes aside, Chara is one of the most recognizable defensemen in the game. He is probably easily the most recognizable player whenever he is on the ice, although that probably has more to do with his half-giant status.

I thought it was a soft goal as well. Crawford should have had it.

I'm surprised Jagr didn't break something after hitting the post in overtime for the second time in two games.

Painful way for the Bruins to lose. They came extremely close several times during overtime.

I'd like to change my pick to Boston in 5. Still Raask for MVP.

Good to see the Lions well represented with three heart breaking losses.

It has been a rough year. Tigers were swept in the World Series, U-M football lost the Outback Bowl in the last minute, U-M basketball lost in the NCAA championship game, and now the Wings lose Game 7 at home. Ugh. Almost makes me appreciate the Lions never playing in any meaningful games.

Brendan Smith is horrible. I wonder if Nicklas Lidstrom would be willing to help out the Wings blue line.

Every shot the Blackhawks had tonight that managed to get past Howard somehow found a post. Phew. What a game.
