Mike Tice Probed. An investigation by the NFL for Super Bowl ticket scalping. Wonderful news for the Vikes no doubt, amongst the recent Moss trade and the pending (?) ownership change.

MLB Post-Season Pick 'Em, Elimination Playoff Edition It's technically the 163rd game of the regular season, but for SportsFilter's purposes the MLB post-season begins RIGHT NOW. Pick the winner of Tuesday's one-game playoff between Minnesota and Chicago, and get a leg up on the pick 'em competition.

Nadal-Federer epic the most thrilling of all the Wimbledon finals I came here to see what the buzz was and was shocked to see Nadal/Federer hadn't been posted already. I only saw part of the match and sadly missed most of the last set, but it seemed pretty epic to me, especially during the 4th set tiebreaker.

I think the video should be at the Wimbledon site. Probably kind of large files though...

Really the win was the result of a lucky speculation. Well, you played it smart and things broke the way you thought they would. That's just playing your hand perfectly is all. I, on the other side of the puck, really got pounded in this league near the end after burning through all my games prematurely. I'm not sure it would have made any difference however. But: mistakes were made!

Mets Get Santana Pending a 24-48 hour window for ironing out a contract extension and completing a player physical, Johan Santana is headed to the Mets for four prospects - outfielder Carlos Gomez , pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra, and Kevin Mulvey.

I understand that this is the way of the world, but I wanted the Twins to keep him. I still find it depressing. I really looked forward to watching him pitch every turn through the rotation.

The Joy of Six The six worst sports movies ever. "Stumbling around seemingly high on botox, Stallone spends his time mulling over snippets of cod philosophy - "The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, it's a very mean and nasty place" - and comes to the conclusion that, by losing, one can actually become ... wait for it ... a winner". The ensuing comments are lively.

For every Bull Durham, there are several movies like Major League 2 and Major League: Back to the Minors. It is the way of the world. On the Talladega Nights thing, expecting more than a goofy ass NASCAR parody out of it is expecting too much. Like expecting the baseball game at the end of The Naked Gun to have realism instead of its ridiculous goodness.

More Bad Noose for Pro Golf Although the story appeared to be dying down after the Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman apologized to Tiger Woods for her "lynch him" remark, Golfweek has just thrown gas on the fire with its cover story and illustration.

Seldom does a sequel surpass an original like that...they really went out of their way to be stupid. "We chose it because it was an image we thought would draw attention to an issue we thought deserved some intelligent dialogue." Right. The drawing attention part is right anyway.

Surf's up at Mavericks this Saturday. Many of the world's best and bravest surfers are heading toward Half Moon Bay as organizers of the legendary Maverick's Surf Contest have scheduled the big-wave event for Saturday. You can watch it for free by heading down there or tuning in to the live webcast. Or pay $20-$25 to watch it on the big stadium screen at AT&T Park in San Francisco (wtf?).

Shotgun in the bucket I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but a coworker and I were watching the NFL playoff games Sunday, and he had a question I couldn't answer, so I put it to all of you: Why do many quarterbacks lift a leg just as they're about to take a shotgun snap? I thought it might have to do with getting a quicker start on backpedaling, but does anyone know? Thanks.

I had forgotten about the "Clever Hans" play even existing...I want to change my answer now.
