What do Canadians call us? (And by 'us' I mean: citizens of the United States---just to be clear) There's not a clear choice, CCG ... but all the variations do involve the phrase "gun-toting". I'll add a few of my own: #41: Visiting NFL fans will be amazed at how clean and safe Detroit is -- and then will realize they weren't supposed to cross the Ambassador Bridge. #42: Numerous sportswriters will be forced to lie to the accounting department of their respective outlets and say the "Cheetah's" on their expense reports is actually a wildlife sanctuary in Ann Arbor. #43: Spirits will be dampened when Seattle's cheerleaders release a live seahawk inside Ford Field, but Ted Nugent shoots it down and eats it raw. #44: Midwesterners will exclaim how nice it is that someone still chooses to name their child Randall. #45: Viewers will marvel at ABC's superior camera work and the SkyCam, but no one will discuss how the network has managed to keep "According To Jim" on the air. #46: During the Rolling Stones' halftime performance, KISS will invited up on stage -- except for Peter Criss, because no one wants Peter Criss.
Sure, Pittsburgh is a great team. I'll give them that. But there is no way that they will beat Seattle. They have to play against the MVP of the league and a very underated quarterback. Another thing that is underated about Seattle is their defense. Just look at their statistics! Sure, Big Ben was great against the Broncos, but Bettis only had 37 all purpose yards. There is no way that Pittsburgh will get past the outstanding Seattle defense, or that Pittsburgh will be able to stop the incredible offense of Seattle. Seattle, all the way.
"No one wants to be Peter Criss! Not even Peter Criss!" - Peter Griffen I just can't wait to see which call/noncall or obscure rule we be talking about the following monday. I have to root for Pit since all thier wins knocked me out of the office pool.
I've been at my grandmother's funeral all weekend, and I was a little strung out & had a few last night when I posted that, but I gotta tell you, you better roll over for Moldova. If by some happenstance they're allowed on the field, it could be a totally interesting game. I love #43, frazer.
It looks like the Steelers will be the first 6th seed team to get to the Super Bowl and win it. No way Seattle wins this game. Seattle got a break when Foster got his (ankle). If he was there it would have been way closer. And it would have opened a door for the Carolina defense. And it would also helped the defense so they wouldn't be backed up to their own touchdown for once in the game. Still, the Seahawks have an underrated offense, but the Steelers have a rated defense, that will show up. Steelers win (24-7)
Just my biased opinion. Joey, Troy, Kimo, and the rest of the Steelers defence will show Matt Hasseled-and-on-his-back what a real pass rush looks like just like they did to Peyton Manhandled, and Jake I-wish-I-was-a-plummer.
eweiner93 is in "dreamland". Steelers have been much underrated during the playoffs. Not many were on their bandwagon. They are cohesive and have gelled in all departments. They have it ALL. Go Steelers!!!

my favorite... 28. Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will deliver his annual state-of-the-league speech to the media on the Friday before the game. It will consist of him waving two fistfuls of money while laughing maniacally and then skipping away.
How many of the respondants have actually read this post, raise your hand? Thought so. P.S. Nice post, skydivemom, even if it was lost on all the fanboys.
willthrill, You might want to amend that to "how many of you arguing over who's going to win read the post?" Quite a few of us actually commented on the article posted...
You're right MeatSaber. Point taken. I certainly wasn't suggesting that no one had read the post. Just intimating that quite a few had not.
In regards to the 40 things to watch for: meh. Some are mildly funny but most are pretty stupid. Like they were given a number to get to and they just kept churning out groaners until they'd finished. Why would Cowher's chin set off a metal detector? But anyway, if the Steelers don't dominate and take home the XL then that'll mean the other team won, or something.
fenriq.....maybe Cowher's chin is made of Steel? sorry no, really :o)
I would just want to see terrapin's reaction if the Steelers win on a last second field goal. However, people must remember that Seattle was the best team in the NFC over the whole season and Hasselbeck and Alexander are both very dangerous. That being said, I still think the Steelers will win.
Terry Bradshaw said it all regarding the Seatle - Carolina game, "the Steelers will beat whoever wins". Big surprise there. No way Seattle wins this game. Seattle got a break when Foster got his (ankle). If he was there it would have been way closer. They could have had both davis & foster & it wouldn't have helped. Christ they scored on a punt return after a flag was picked up & a fluke deep pass after game was over. Completely dominated. Pittsburgh will not be able to harass hasselbeck nearly as much as their other playoff games. Seattle has the best o line in the league. I never believed in the east coast bias until hearing all the crap spewed out last week vs carolina & now these daily gems.
They could have had both davis & foster & it wouldn't have helped. You can't possibly say it would have no affect. A running game affects every single part of a game. Even special teams. Carolina was completely dominated because they had no run game. Carolina's game plan is all about the run. Without it they have very slim chances of winning. And to make things worse, Seattle had their middle linebacker playing in a safeties position. They knew they were going to pass. Plan and simple, an effective running game opens up the passing game. Then they would have a better chance of scoring. If Jake would have threw it to other people than Smith. Then Seattle wouldn't have had such great field position. I didn't say they wouldn't have still won, but if they did, it wouldn't have been by 20. Although injuries are not an excuse you can't say haveing foster wouldn't affect the game.
So what excuse do you have for Portis. I think most would say he's better than foster.
Portis didn't have carolina's O-line. Plus Washington doesnt have the offense that Carolina has. Im not saying Seattle's defense isn't good but with foster the outcome would have been different. And yes Seattle has a chance to win the superbowl. I just think the steelers have a much better one.
I think the Steelers will win the Super Bowl GO STEELERS
