Devils Playoff History

I am a die hard New Jersey Devils and New York Jets fan.

Even though I live in the U.S. I think hockey is the greatest sport ever. Football is a great game too. Golf and baseball are fun to play but boring to watch.

There is no greater thrill than going into the Flyer's arena wearing a Devil's Jersey.

To explain the screen name: nj=New Jersey sk8r=skater (as in skateboarder) 20=the number I wore in the roller hockey league.

SportsFilter picks

  • Placed 30th out of 32 in SportsFilter's 2006 Men's Hockey Olympicks.
  • Placed 25th out of 29 in SportsFilter's World Baseball Classic Confidence Points Pick 'Em.

Perhaps my greatest contribution to SportsFilter is the 2006 Men's Hockey Olympicks. Mad props to DrJohnEvans (friggin Senators fan) who did an excellent job creating and maintaining the Leaderboard.

One more attempt at a New York SpoFi meetup. In true Spofi fashion, I waited until the last minute. I will be flying out of the boonies into New Jersey to catch Thursday's New Jersey Devils vs Philadelphia Flyers game, a game with possible playoff implications that should have a playoff atmosphere. Are there any other spofites going? Or does anyone want to meet up at some point on Friday or Saturday?

NHL player gives a little back to the community. The NHL has been getting some negative press lately. Here's a guy that shows professional hockey players can make a positive impact on society. Rob Skrlac is not the only one. Are your favorite teams doing anything for your community?

How about a Men's Olympic Hockey pool. The schedule is set and we know the teams playing. I learned a new system that might work well with this tournament. Details inside.

This place is too popular for me now. Like Green Day, it's just not cool anymore. That's it, I'm outta here.

Mic can't think straight (or hit straight!) Shouldn't his caddie have been more pro aqctive abou club selection and shot choice at 18? I thought he had matured beyond that kind of mistake!

Now if Carolina wins game 7, I will pull ahead of Weedy for 26th place. It's the little victories that make life worth living.

I'm stupid I tried to post a topic but I am such a boneheaded computer novice that I can't figure out how to link to a column and post it. If anyone cares to give me any pointers I would greatly appreciate it. Or, if you just want to tell me what a complete stoneage 8-track playing idiot I am, then I guess I deserve that. Sorry, I'm from those days and this stuff is frustrating to me. Anyway if anyone feels sorry enough for my decrepit old ass, you can e-mail me at jcreibs13@yahoo.com. Thanks for any help. Jeff

I hate myself for not being as helpful as chicobangs and DrJohnEvans. I'm giving myself a Jason Terry crotch punch right now. I suck. Speaking of that, justgary was supposed to have forwarded an email to you about the self induced technical difficulty I am having. Unfortunately, it looks like something only an admin can fix. If you don't respond soon, I'm gonna crawl so far up your ass you will be able to taste my shampoo. Really though, I have more pressing matters, which I am sure you do to. But if you could take a quick gander at it, I would greatly appreciate it. I might even buy you a mug for christmas.

NHL Confidence Pool Update round 2 is over. Edmonton and Anaheim are the Cinderella teams, and DrJohnEvans and NoMich are in a close fight for the lead. What were your best/worst picks?

posted by qbert72 at 09:55 PM on May 17

Correction: 7-5) Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia 4-2) TB, Dallas, Nashville The highest possible score would be 746 pts.

Worst: 2 points for Edmonton, 15 for Dallas. Best: 12 points for Carolina, 1 point for TB. No matter what happens though, I still blew it. The best picks at the bottom end would have been: 12) San Jose 11-10) NJ, Ottawa 9) Colorado 8) Calgary 7-5) TB, Dallas, Nashville 4-2) Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia 1) NY Rangers OK, so maybe 3 pts for Montreal was my best.

I would hardly call moving from NY to Texas a minor thing. But then again, I have only been to Texas twice. The first time I just drove through, the second time I was just changing planes in Dallas.
