It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No, It's Dwyane Wade!

I agree, that this performance showed us all just how great Wade will truly be in years to come, but we should've all seen this coming 2 yrs. ago when he led Miami to a gm 7 win vs New Orleans(this is back when the Hornets were actually good; anyone remember? oh well). If you will remember, in his first ever playoff gm, he hit the game winner. How many guys can claim that? But he can't give the Heat 40 pts and not to mention 13 rebounds every night. What they need is for Shaq to be Shaq again and the other people step up and actually make shots. The other guys in gms 1&2 fell in love with the 3-pointers and in gm 1 no one but Shaq and Wade got to the free throw line and the free throw shooting by the Heat has been terrible. Shaq actually made 4 of 6 FTs last night and they still as a team made only 20 of 34. The play that Wade at the end of the game last night was great and preserved the win, but they could've sealed the win up alot sooner if they would've simply made their free throws. You can't win a championship if you don't make your foul shots, especially the critical ones that count the most. My prediction: DAL wins in 6.

NBA Draft Lottery Projections

What? No mention of Reddick or Morrison. They were all anyone wanted to talk about during the NCAA basketball season. I would tend to think teams might kill to get a sharpshooter like Reddick. But I guess you're right, it is wide open this year.

Rocky

Well, actually Tommy Trump, I'll correct you: he had Kaman's balls. What the hell was this guy thinking? Oh well, I think the punishment was appropriate, though some of us may think he should have been suspended for the rest of Denver's playoff run. At least he didn't reach into Kaman's shorts. That would have been just weird.

Are you ready for some football?

I think the opener, Miami @ Pittsburg, should be a pretty good game and could be an indicator of how the season may go for the 2 teams. I'm not too interested in what reception T.O. will get when he goes back to Philly in wk. 5. Don't we all know what it will be? New Orleans acquisition of Drew Brees will improve but not enough to really matter, at least not with that defense anyways. Kinda cool that K.C. got a Thanksgiving game, though it will be on the NFL Network. Couldn't they at least put it on ESPN or ESPN2? Here's my Super Bowl prediction(if anyone cares). Indianapolis over Washington. Trendy or maybe predictable, yes, but if these two teams get together on that fateful day in February, it could be a pretty good one.

Former Packer Chmura rips Favre, calls him 'selfish'

Oh please geekguy, this wait just proves that Favre is selfish. Favre is hurting his team's chances to go out and get players to actually improve themselves by waiting. This guy is as selfish as TO. Green Bay fans go through this shit every year. "Will he come back or will he retire?" He should have his mind made up a long time ago. If i were manager of the Pack, Id've told him "Look, you have till after the Super Bowl to make up your mind, or otherwise I'm just gonna cut ya." I know that's easier said than done, but its time to move on. Favre has had a Hall of Fame 14 seasons in Green Bay and even won a super bowl. Everybody says they don't wanna see him go out on a 4-12 season. Fuck these people! Anyone remember how Dan Marino went out? Yes he is great and he will be missed if and when he decides to retire, but if he's gonna come back, Aaron Rodgers needs to get out of there. He's just wasting away there when he could be out and maybe making some good contributions to some other team. What did they draft him for if they didn't plan on playing him at all while #4's still there? Let me just say to Favre: "Hey you're great and you will me missed, but its time to move on. Now, please, if ya really want to do what's best for your team, please retire."

Vinatieri Signs with the Colts

This is a huge loss for NE. Vinatieri was the one who started the Pats dynasty when he nailed that game winning FG in the snow vs. Oakland, if you'll recall. And if you think Bellichick is bananas for letting him go, remember two things: (1)In New England, it truly is all about the team. (2)Bellichick is a future hall of fame caliber coach. The Pats have been hit hard before by departures and the injury bug before and in the last 5 seasons they have still managed to win 58 regular season gms and 3 Super Bowls and Brady went 10-0 in playoff starts before the loss to Denver in round 2. No question NE is still a threat to get to Super Bowl XLI, but this clearly gives Indy a valuable weapon in close, games, and far as Peyton Manning choking in big games, let's remember that John Elway and the Broncos got their ass kicked in three Super Bowls before Jon finally won one.

George Mason Stuns Tarheels

Oh, please;doesn't belong, give me a break. Agree or disagree with the committee's selection, all of these teams earned their way in(OK, maybe not ALL of them earned their way in). But like it or not, this is what happens every year in the NCAA tournament. Some mid-major gets into the tournament and pulls off an upset that is shocking to everybody, except for that team. This is why they call it March Madness. You win one game, and all you do is survive to play another team who wants to get rid of you. It's one and done. You don't bring your "A" game on even one night, and you're gone, no matter who you are. Both GM and Wichita State are this year's cinderella(Personally, I like WSU in this matchup). One of these teams is goin' to the Elite 8 and maybe the Final Four. Perhaps if the Heels took the Patriots more seriously, they would've won.

America's Favorite Player Released.

As a Steelers fan, I personally don't care where he goes, because I don't think he'll end up in Steel Town. I just want him to play next year so we all can have the privilege of watching the show known as "T.O.". You have to admit, it was entertaining as hell. I kinda hope he ends up in Dallas so we'll see him celebrate his TDs on the big star at midfield as the crowd cheers on, or maybe KC and after every score, we can all sing "Hail to the Chief". No matter where he lands, it will certainly be great havin' TO back in the league.

The NCAA Tourney Field Is Set

I definitely think Cincinnati and Michigan got robbed. Teams like Utah State, Air Force, and UAB who beat absolutely no one out of conference definitely shouldn't have gotten at large bids ahead of Cin and Mich. The only thing UAB had for them was an in conference home win over Memphis. And what about other one win wonders, like Florida St. and Texas A&M? Sure the wins over Duke and Texas respectively look nice on their resume, but they have got to go out and not only play quality teams out of conference, but beat them as well. At least teams like Memphis and Gonzaga, who play in weak conferences, go out and play good, quality non-conference opponents and they usually do well against them.

Nash Must Be The MVP

Nash is definitely an MVP candidate because of what he and the Suns are doin' with new people and without Amare Stoudamire. But I do think ya have to give MVP consideration to Chauncey Billups because he's probably the MVP of the Pistons, who by the way, have the league's best record and may just win 70 games(though in my opinion, it is unlikely). As far as Kobe, yes he's one of the league's best players right now, I don't think you can give someone an MVP just because they're a great scorer on a team that's just barely over .500. By the way, how bout Dirk Nowitzki. He's a key player for Dallas, who have the best record in the Western Conference(at least right now anyways).

Steelers Won Super Bowl XL

Bein' a Steelers' fan, I'm glad that Cowher and Bettis won the SB(but not for Ward and Porter). Plus, I get to rub it in the face of my dad and my stepmom and her kids, as they're huge Dallas fans. But I definitely think this wasn't of the best SBs ever. Iffy officiating, so-so commercials, and a bad half time show. But at least Pittsburgh won and we didn't have to see Ward do another one of his horrible lookin' dances after he scored his TD.

40 things to watch for at Super Bowl XL

I agree that they shouldn't say its for the "world championship in football". It's only played here in america and Europe, and the guys that are sent to NFL Europe are guys who simply couldn't make in the NFL over here in the U.S. As far as the matchup goes, the run game will most likely be the determining factor in this game. Whoever can stop the opponents running game has a decided edge. Even though I'm a Steelers fan, I think the Seahawks have a more balanced offense. As far as you go, madtom, don't be mad that Seattle's in this year's Super Bowl and the Rams aren't. If the Rams knew how to play defense, they'd have won more games.

Seahawks Soar Over Washington

Alexander may have been the NFL's MVP, but how about Hasselbeck bein' the Seahawks' MVP, or at least the MVP of today's game. This guy really kept his cool after Alexander went out and led the 'Hawks to a great victory. Congrats to the team and their long suffering fans. Also about Hass that gets overlooked, but has mentioned a few times, this guy has a history of rarely turning the ball over once they get in the red zone. I think at one point last year, he had 20 RZ TDS and only 1 RZ INT. As for the Bears, I think they'll win tomorrow. They have a great D, and they've already beat CAR, and they've proven that you can win on a consistent basis with a good defense, no matter how badly the offense sucks. They have overcome alot this year: a bad offense, having to start a rookie at QB because of a near season ending injury to their starting QB, and sweeping Brett Favre, who almost always beats da Bears. Just one other thing, Rex Grossman, just like many other Bears, has never been in a playoff game and just 2 years ago the Panthers nearly won the title themselves. They better take advantage of their playoff experience and hope Delhomme doesn't get sacked 8 times again if they wanna win.

Broncos Drop Patriots

I think the better team, Denver, won tonight(and I'm also glad the Patriot's dynasty is finally over!), but let's not forget, the Pats had five giveaways, and twice gave Denver the ball at the 1-yard line. Who's not gonna score when they've four cracks at it from the 1; even the Texans could score from there. As far as the PIT-INDY game, it should be a great game and the Colts better not look past PIT. Cowher's got enough playoff experience that they may be able to go into the dome and steal one, though if I were the Vegas odd makers, I'd make Indy about a 7-point favorite. As far the Colts winning it all, if they even get to the AFC title game, they better bring their A game because tonight Denver showed what could do against some great teams. But I do think Indy's the favorite to win the whole thing.

Yet Another Belichick Protege Being Sought.

I think the Jets better get a tough, durable guy at QB before they go lookin' for a new head coach, 'cause if they have more injuries and inconsistent play at QB again this year, it won't matter who the coach is cause they'll have another bad year. And remember, they let Herm Edwards, a pretty good coach, get away way too cheap. They should've asked for more from KC than a 4th round pick, and if they were unwilling to give 'em anything more than that, shop him around to other teams. I'm sure they would've loved to have gotten a good coach such as Edwards. It's not like they're are'nt plenty of coaching vacancies. I think at the very least they should asked for more picks and maybe some cash so they could land some good players via the draft and free agency, cause they need to whatever they can to improve in a ridiculously tough AFC and an improving AFC East.
