Because I'm notorious for doing semi-OK (or least participating) in earlier rounds of this kind of thing and then forgetting to even submit later picks ... I'm getting in now ...

Bonus : NY Jets punting - 233 yards

For some reason the scoring link is blocked for me at work. I don't think I want to see where I am in the standings anyway, I know I got all the winners and points wrong.

Ugh, what the frak was I thinking? That's why I make the picks at 8:00 AM while getting the kids to school: I usually don't overthink things. I may have underthunk (I swear it's a real word) this one. Maybe I just had Favre's old, old team on the mind.

Make that:

Sorry for effing things up, apoch.

Lots of Vikes love. I don't see them advancing against such a healthy Cowboys team.

Before I make even more of a fool of myself, is the punting yardage gross or net? It could matter.

posted by Howard_T at 03:48 PM on January 12, 2010

Whatever ESPN is listing in their boxscore. Probably gross.

New Orleans by 4 over Arizona. The Saints rediscover how to play football.

Indianapolis by 9 over Ravens. Joe Flacco has to throw the ball this time...really.

Dallas by 12 over Vikings. Will the real Bret Favre please stand up.

San Diego by 16 over NYJ. The Jets finally play a team that isn't beat up and is really trying to win.

New York has the most punts for 211 yards.

Wait, are we playing by "Price is Right" rules?

I saw some of the other punt yardage predictions and thought the same thing. I sure it's just coincidence.

Holy snappin' !

Pat McAfee with 275 for the Colts !

posted by tommybiden at 11:41 AM on January 17, 2010

That 275 puts everyone out of the chase for bonus points based on yardage, the +- 15 yards. Possible still to get points based on the correct team but the bonus won't be much of a bonus. Also, no points based on the spread in the Saints beatdown, the bottom of the spread was higher than the biggest spread predicted.

228 yards for Kluwe of Minnesota.
