Serving Larry Bird: too bad he wasn't number 15.

Now that guy is a true dumbass. Good thing for him he wasn't a Gretzky fan... If he is that much of a dumbass though, he probably needs to be inside that long. He should have asked for the downward departure in the sentence to Robert Parish, but he's too much of a dumbass.

I'm sure Larry as often as he sees his daughter.

I would have asked for a sentence equal to Penny Hardaways number

Now THAT's a Celtics fan and a real sports fan. By comparison - the rest of us are just pretending. Oh, and are also free; and not pyschotically anti-social.

I wonder how old this guy is. If he's over 60, it's kind of moot.

what's parole? one third of the sentence or something? so maybe we're talking about one additional year rather than three.

True story. During the Celtic's most recent heyday, Kevin McHale had it written into his contract that he could not be paid more than Bird. In other words, Mchale's as dumb as the criminal in the link.

or he just had so much respect for the man, that making more money than him made no sense..

I would have tried to honor Robert Parish instead....

In other words, Mchale's as dumb as the criminal in the link Someone tell me which player would do this today. Although Im a sixers fan and an avid Boston hater. I always had much respect for the celtics of that era. this is an example of a player truely knowing his role on a team. And keep in mind that charles barkley said "mchale is the toughest power fwd i ever played against". And the guy in the link was probably homless for the last 10 yrs. A stable place to live? Hell yea, that was like getting and extra 3 years on an apartment lease for free by merely asking for it. This guy is going to repent for what he has done, get to the gates of heaven and say, "Its fucking freezing up here, can someone point me in the direction of that lake of fire thing i heard about"?

During the Celtic's most recent heyday, Kevin McHale had it written into his contract that he could not be paid more than Bird. I don't even understand the statement. If Bird has a $50 mil 5 year contract, for example ($5 mil a year) and McH has one say for $25 mil for the same period, wouldn't that also imply he makes less money than Bird? Maybe has to do with the contract expirations being different, if Bird's contract expired earlier an re-signed for $2 mil a year, the remaining years of Mc would be lowered to $2 mil as well... In any case, this clause might have been demanded by the club not the player, like saying 'whatever you get it's not going to be more than Larry'.

People like that, and believe me, there are millions of them, are just job security for those of us in law enforcement.
