Johnny Mac coming back John McEnroe will play doubles with Jonas Bjorkman in an ATP event in San Jose. It will be interesting to see if he can control his temper. Personally, I hope he doesn't. Mens tennis needs someone with a little 'personality'.

“I’ve already died four times" The story of boxer Johnny Tapia, who is to step into the ring one last time on Friday, is one that is a "little too dark" for Disney, what with the suicide attempts and overdoses.

Didn't I see a Simpsons' episode where all that shit happened to Homer? But this would make an excellent movie. I was thinking Jim Carey could play Johnny. I smell Oscar.

Scotty just had a news conference. He announced that he was gay when he played in the NBA, but now he is heterosexual. Good luck on the comeback Scotty!

Tim Hardaway, the yin to Jon Amaechi's yang: "First of all I wouldn't want him on my team," said Hardaway. "Second of all, if he was on my team I would really distance myself from him because I don't think that's right and I don't think he should be in the locker room when we're in the locker room."

With all the hate this incident brought out, I doubt we'll be seeing too many (read 'zero') pro athletes or anyone contemplating coming out come out any time soon. Thats got to be a ton of weight to be carrying around, not being able to be who you are. You can't be who you are out of fear. That would suck.

All I know is that they're all evil. Shower with them? No freaking way. They'll eat you without a second thought. And don't bother trying to sleep around one. They'll eat your brain. And then they make those evil little baloon animals and have the flowers that squirt water in your face. Ha ha. Very funny you evil bastard. And what do you think those big feet are for? I'll tell you exactly what they're for. They're to STOMP you with. OK, I'm going to exercise my freedom of speech. I HATE CLOWNS!!

I LOVED THE BIG FELLA! REST IN PEACE! And Weedy, why is it when you attempt a humorous post on a thread like this you're funny. When I attempt humor, I'm an insensitive asshole (probably because I am, but still). SummersEve, that was utterly hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.

He's running out of chances. If he keeps up his drug lifestyle when he gets out, he'll be dead within two years. Hope he makes it this time.

'Scuse me while I whip this out... Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis arrested on suspicion of DUI after cops observe him get out of his car and urinate in the street in Miami. Personally, I'd have held off on drunken shenanigans until after I'd finished with my contract negotiations. Then again, that's just me.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 07:52 AM on December 22

The fact he pissed in the street isn't the big deal. It's the fact he was drunk and didn't take a piss somewhere more discretely. He called attention to himself and investigation revealed he was DUI. Have many of us driven when perhaps we've had a few too many? I know I have in the past. Notice I said in the past. Most people in their early 20's don't always think too clearly, even when they're not buzzed. Hopefully he will be humbled by this experience and not let himself get in this kind of situation again. I think a little maturity contributes to better decision making. I know it did for me.

Terrell vs. DeAngelo -- Who Gives A Spit? Consider the receiver before condemning the deliverer, says wfrazerjr.

posted by justgary at 04:20 PM on December 18

TO or not, it's bad sportsmanship to spit on someone. I don't think it matters who is involved, i.e. Favre, the Mannings, Brady or whoever. TO should be fined, but not suspended. As far as hocking one on Eli Manning, I think there are a lot of Giants fans who would gladly let him have it. "PTOOEY! Hey Eli, you're a fuckin' bum!" (in best Bronx accent).

English flags banned at the Emirates. That's the Emirates Stadium; Arsenal's home stadium.

Politics in sports at it's finest. I don't follow soccer too much, but from what I can see, the passion and intensity fans display is is unmatched in any other sport in any part of the world. Downright scary.

Young Buckeyes considering NFL draft I wonder how good they will be next year if they all go?

posted by livewire at 05:52 PM on December 18

Arrogant. When you're a fan of a great undefeated team like this year's Buckeyes, arrogant is good. Come on, if the shoe were on the other foot with the Wolverines as the undefeated team and the Bucks on the outside looking in, Michigan fans would be the same. We're just enjoying a season that doesn't come around very often.

Stomp his guts out? Man, that's mild. I'd poke his eyes out. Then, I'd get in my mini-van and run him over. Then I'd light him on fire. Then I'd hang him from the goal post and punch him like a heavy bag. Then I'd...

Clevelander32, you pretty much hit it right on the head. But think about something. How sweet would it be to kick Michigan's ass TWICE in one year? That would be freakin' awesome. But Sydney 2000 would come up with some chicken-shit excuse like the team had too many White Castle's and had the shits. Nice.

Hey sydney2006, you're mumbling. You might want to take those sour grapes out of your mouth. Nice of you to blame the loss on Bo inconveniently passing away. How inconsiderate of him. Nice comeback.

Teammates for life. Former Cowboy cornerback Everson Walls, victim of one of the most infamous TD's ever is set to donate a kidney to former teammate and diabetic running back Ron Springs, who just happens to be the father of current Redskins cornerback Shawn Springs.

I'm sure that in a few years from now when Terry Glenn or Roy Williams need a kidney that they could call TO. I'm sure he wouldn't give it a second thought:)
