Madden Jinx? Shaun Alexander rushed for 187 yards through three games, which is less than a thousand projected yards throughout the entire season (997 to be exact). Not to mention he was on pace for only eleven rushing touchdowns. Terrible numbers for a guy who rushed for 1880 last year and had 27 rushing tds.

Buy your way into the New York City (or any other) Marathon. "The notion of paying hundreds of dollars for the opportunity to run 26.2 miles may not appeal to most people, but some runners are doing just that because demand for marathons has outstripped the number of spots available in the fields."

Up in the sky -- it's a bird, it's a plane ... it's Seattle's NBA franchise leaving town! The Seattle Supersonics have been sold to a consortium based in Oklahoma City. The team also has a lease at KeyArena through 2010.

USA Basketball Ready to Rebound? After a horrendous sixth-place finish at the World Basketball Championships in 2002 and the bronze medal debacle at the Athens Olympics in 2004, a Team USA housecleaning resulted in a new coach (Mike Krzyzewski), a new team stocked with young talent, and a whole new attitude. Whether it will be enough to reestablish American dominance on the international stage remains to be seen.

Steve Nash: End of an Hair-a Nash takes a set of clippers (no pun intended) to his flowing do. Now, will he be able to play through it, or will it have a Samson-like effect on his game?

YES! It happened! Like we all knew it would. The most predictable occurence in sports history. Larry Brown out - Isiah in. After all, it only makes sense that a team of five guards should be coached by one. Gentlemen, start your sarcasm.

No World Cup love for Team USA Our beloved "football" team just lost 2-1 to Ghana, sending Ghana to the second round and the US back home. Disappointment runs rampant, especially since Italy beat the Czech Republic 2-1. Only one goal the entire round? Pathetic.
