Whatever. A 75 year planet streak seems pretty pathetic next to, say, Earth, which has, what, like a billion? Pluto was the utility infielder of planets. Nobody ever paid this much attention to Kiko Garcia.
Pluto, it's been nice knowing you. You had to work harder than everyone else in the lineup, always with more ground to make up, a study in perseverance. Is it a coincidence that David Eckstein hasn't been seen since Pluto got sent down?
It always stinks getting sent to the minors, but keep your head up, they are still calling you a planet.
I'll miss pluto. He was a scrappy lil' guy.
Pluto was the utility infielder of planets Surely you mean outfielder, given the distance to home plate?
It takes Pluto 248 years to make one orbit of the sun (and for twenty years of that, it is actually the eighth planet out as it cuts inside Neptune's orbit). Seems a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to relegate the wee fella at the bottom of the third.
Pfft. Pluto sucked. You know who can slide right in and take it's place? The Moon. Any moon. Saturn has like, thirteen moons that will do. Just don't touch the big black rectangle that hangs out around them.
Sound like if Pluto can round out its game, it might be back.
Surely you mean outfielder, given the distance to home plate? Good call. Replace Kiki Garcia with Ken Landreaux. It takes Pluto 248 years to make one orbit of the sun Proof that you can be too small and too slow and NOT be labeled scrappy. Clock is definitely running on that moon-entourage dropping Pluto like A-Rod on a routine grounder.
Wow. I cant believe that this actually made it onto the mlb.com website...
Wow. I cant believe that this actually made it onto the mlb.com website... You took the words right out of my mouth. I mean, I was shocked, disgruntled, even a bit saddened when I linked in to space.com to read this article. You can tell Thursdays are slow days in the MLB.
What goes around, comes around. I'm sure Pluto will get a chance in some other other (solar) system. Afterall the guy's got ice in his veins. Sure he was out there, but no more so than Mark Fidrych or so many others. Ok, I'm all out.
That was pretty funny. Kinda sad you found that on the MLB website though.
Mother Very Easily Made Jelly Sandwiches Under No ........ Man, that's gonna mess me uP!
oh, one more... I assume he was sent down to the Ursa Minors.
It's obvious he'll never be a star.
I suppose 2003 UB313 will be called up to take Pluto's spot.
So, is this a final decision, or is it possible that Pluto would be able to pull something out of Uranus, and get back in the game?
