Terrell Owens pays Jesus the ultimate compliment...: of course, the Son of God never tried to get an already mammoth contract restructured for his monetary benefit, or threatened to bolt town after one year of a seven year deal. So, I guess T.O. isn't God, just God-like.

Jesus would never sit out for a restructured contract. A guy who died for our sins would take one for the team and play, no matter how he felt about his deal.

Great idea T.O. Everyone meet at his 4 million dollar house this afternoon. And don't forget your stones. Let's get our hate on...

There's a point-by-point comparison between TO and JC in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch this morning, including this gem: "Owens has been known to do gimmicky celebrations in the end zone; Jesus was known to walk on water. Edge Jesus." On the non-Jesus front, Sal Paolantonio said this morning that TO will play for the Eagles or no one this season; that management won't blink. Is he right?

What the H-E double hockey sticks is this article supposed to prove? I'm catholic {at least I was the last time I attended services} and don't understand how or why anyone would use a God or Jesus reference in any way or form. When John Lennon did it, people burned, crushed and destroyed albums that now would be worth a fortune just for making a harmless comparison to the Beatles popularity to Jesus Christ. Fact was that at that time, they were and that is a fact! In this article, this moron uses Jesus to compare situations between himself and the Lord above. To finish this one I just want to say that I was beginning to believe that T.O. was starting to grow up, but I guess I was wrong. An ego can take a man far. It's also what can destroy everything that makes us who We are. These "poor" sports stars who think million dollar contracts are like minimum wage, need to go fight over in the middle east for the kind of pay they get there while under far worse conditions. Upon their return, they may just realize that the money they make isn't so bad.

Bottom line is this. T.O. signed a contract. Just because you had a real good year and came back from a broken legs to play in the Super Bowl, doesn't mean you get to redo your contract. If you didn't like the contract, you shouldn't have signed it. Quit your damn whining and complaining and make your point on the field. Maybe after this upcoming season the Eagles will redo it if you have another really good year. T.O. better hope God has a sense of humor.

He wasn't comparing himself to Jesus as in I am more popular than Jesus like the Beatles did. He was using the way Jesus lived his life as an example of why he is or is not bothered by other's people views on him. As a good Christian, that really should be what you are doing -- what would Jesus do. TO had little choice to sign this contract. His old agent messed up his whole free agency. Then the trade to Baltimore and then the NFL brokered a deal to please everybody. He didn't have a ton of options at that point. He is making less than he should, there is no way he is making all the money on that deal. He knows it, the Eagles know it, and his agent knows it. Still, TO is a pretty unsympathetic character. You jsut can't renegotiate a deal after only one year.

Maybe I need a new agent too. I'm making less than I should and it isn't anything close to $49 million.

dbt you got me to laugh, thats some funny shit. Thanks man. I could see how that would go down in my boss' office with my "agent" negotiating my new contract. That would be a very short meeting.

Hey T O why don't you get off your high horse, your're just a man, and your're ruining the love of the game, my son's play football, they looked up to you, now after the comments you made, they said "gee dad T.O. doesn't know the Lord", that mister is more valuable then any amount of money you can abtain. I nevered seen a u hal behind a hearst, look around this country, there are youths that would love to be were your're at, not for the money but for the love of the game, your're a disgrace to the NFL, and to the youth that look up to you, you should be an example, not set one.

I can't believe that american got so caught up in these sports, athelets are way over payed, try working a real job and raise a family by real hands, they close schools, allow the homeless to go hungry, they give these guys multi million dollar contracts, and they still want more, thats insane, the bible says don't have the love of money, you can't serve two masters, ( God and Money) and what would Jesus do, jesus had no place to rest his head, he was born in a mainger(an animal barn) he took the penalty of sin on his shoulders took the wrath of his father, was beaten beyond reconigition ISAIAH 53 so people like T O can be saved, if people only knew what the name Jesus really truely is an means, they sure in the heck wouldn't think 3 million a year isn't enough, so what would Jesus do, give all what you have and come follow me, then you'll know what Jesus would do.

Mea culpa, I have offended the great and powerful sports filter. What should my punishment be? Blanket statements about the wonderful sports filter are not to be tolerated. Here is a non blanket statement for those complaining about my blanket statement. You were quick to condemn my comments about the retarded nature of the sports filter, yet no comments about the racist and hateful statements by sports filter member Bubba Dope. Shame on you, REJECTS!

You were quick to condemn my comments about the retarded nature of the sports filter, yet no comments about the racist and hateful statements by sports filter member Bubba Dope. Shame on you, REJECTS! The 'hateful' statements were being discussed in the locker room. Someone already gave you the link. There have also been plenty of statements condemning bubbag's comments. You're overreacting. I never said blanket statements about sportsfilter wouldn't be tolerated. I said that they were not understandable. If you feel that one member makes sportsfilter 'retarded' you are welcome to leave. No one's forcing you to stay.

The NFL needs to show some stones on overpaid Prima Donna's like TO. He has a contract and should be forced to honor it. In no other profession can you attempt to change your employment terms after only one year or threaten to move to another branch of the same company if your requests are not granted. Any person with a real job would be put out on the street for trying such things. He has no honor or morals.

I challenge you to quote exactly where you were condemned. tanuki, you've obviously made your well-informed decision regarding the entire site and your choice is that you don't like what goes on here. By making a sweeping generalization, you're no less ignorant than the bubba you find offensive. I would think the clear option for you would be to leave this site, start your own blog and spout your single-minded view to those exactly like you. I'm guessing your new blog will be nothing more than literary masturbation.

Back on topic... Does anyone else remember to just before TO get his seven year deal? Teams were wondering if he was worth picking up at all, and some question the wisdom of the Eagles decision. At that point TO sounded happy to get a contract AT ALL, much less a seven year 49 million dollar one... This guy is a cancer. Trade him or let him sit out like a baby.
