And yet another CFB poll... I wish D1 would go to a play-off system and drop all of the polls and BCS garbage. They could still generate big $$ by having sponsors. (ie: The Car Quest Western Semifinal Round).

Hines Ward plans to hold out and this, for me, is very disappointing. While many of the other wideouts, like TO, seem to be money grubbing, trash-talking idiots, Ward always came across as a "team man". News has the Steelers offering him a contract that would have made him the highest paid player in the history of the organization-and he turned it down!

Heath Miller -is this guy going to be a starter as a rookie? Will the Steelers be able to use this kid to make up for Plexiglass?

Palmiero busted? USA Today and WFAN in New York are reporting that Rafael Palmeiro has been suspended for a drug policy violation. USA Today also reports that it was immediately appealed.
mlb.com just made an announcement of their own. Wow.

Terrell Owens pays Jesus the ultimate compliment... of course, the Son of God never tried to get an already mammoth contract restructured for his monetary benefit, or threatened to bolt town after one year of a seven year deal. So, I guess T.O. isn't God, just God-like.

The NFL needs to show some stones on overpaid Prima Donna's like TO. He has a contract and should be forced to honor it. In no other profession can you attempt to change your employment terms after only one year or threaten to move to another branch of the same company if your requests are not granted. Any person with a real job would be put out on the street for trying such things. He has no honor or morals.
Artest Calls Season Suspension Too Harsh INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Pacers (news) forward Ron Artest said Tuesday he wishes he hadn't gotten into a fight with fans but feels his season-ending suspension was too harsh. I don't think it was fair — that many games," Artest said in an interview with NBC's "Today" show. "I respect (NBA Commissioner) David Stern's decisions, but I don't think I should have been out for the whole season."

Artest got off easy. If any non-athelete were to attack a co-worker or a customer, they would loose their job AND be in jail. Howerer, in today's world, this jerk will be able to spin this into a book deal. A high profile job with a large paycheck should never be an excuse to do as one pleases. The "fans" involved should also face criminal charges for assault and disorderly conduct.
The Malice In The Palace What's the answer? Clearly the fans were chiefly culpable, and I for one would be disappointed if this didn't result in the cancellation and forfeiture of at least one Pistons home game.

If he is on 'roids, he is a scab and a cheat. In my opinion that is much worse than what Pete Rose did...the punishment should fit the crime. There is no place for cheats in any aspect of life.
