Force makes history as first female Funny Car winner: Another woman winning in a major auto sport. I think it is even better since she beat her dad in the finals. Congratulations Ashley.

More Bad Noose for Pro Golf: Although the story appeared to be dying down after the Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman apologized to Tiger Woods for her "lynch him" remark, Golfweek has just thrown gas on the fire with its cover story and illustration.

Woods closes out the year with a seven-shot win: Okay, the guy takes 10 weeks off and still wins by 7 shots. And what's the deal with Rory Sabbatini?

NCAA May Expand March Madness to 96 Teams

Why is the NCAA tinkering with basketball? They should be working on how to have a real National Champion for football.

NASCAR Driver Jimmie Johnson AP's Male Athlete of the Year

This entire conversation about who is and is not an athlete is crazy. Yes, baseball players are athletes. They also get to sit on the bench every half inning. Football players are athletes. They also get to sit on the bench when there is a change of posession. Basketball has timeouts and halftime. The next hot summer day that comes along, roll your windows up, and turn the heat on as hot as it can go and drive for 3-4 hours. There are no timeouts, change of posession, halftimes, or anything else that gives a Nascar driver a break from sitting in a car that is upwards of 140 degrees inside. Nascar drivers are athletes.

Tiger Woods to take 'indefinite' leave from golf

They (the press) makes it seem like Tiger is the ONLY golfer ever to cheat on his wife. Yes, he is the most popular but he isn't the only one. The only reason this is so blown out of porportion is because it is Tiger. Bill Clinton didn't get this much attention when he was fooling around. It was stupid of him to do what he did but he's also human. Humans make mistakes. Leave the man alone and let him try to fix his marriage.

Woods' Agent Looks for Love from Sponsors

I find it highly unlikely that Tiger has been the ONLY one who has had transgressions while on the PGA Tour. If this story had been about John Daly, would it have gotten this much attention? Now I understand John Daly isn't Tiger but neither is any other golfer on the tour. The more popular you are, the harder papers like the National Inquirer will try to find dirt on you. Wasn't Michael Jordan fooling around on his wife? It never got this much attention.

Bengals Coach Tells Ochocinco to Cut the Mustard

What is the difference between Hines' hit and a hit that happens on a lot of punt returns? How many times have we all seen a guy get de-cleeted on a punt return? Nothing has been said about those hits being dirty.

As far as Chad 85's one liners go. He should have said something about the Steelers db's only seeing his Heinz-end as he's running toward the goal line.

Aluminum Bat Maker Liable in Baseball Player's Death

There is no common sense in this or the McDonald's lawsuits. Everyone who plays baseball knows the ball comes off of the aluminum bat faster than a wooden bat. These same players know there is a risk of being hit with a batted ball. I'm sure if a player wasn't comfortable with the situation, they wouldn't play. By playing, they are taking responsability for what might happen.

The parents should ashamed of themselves for taking this to court and the Judge should be even more ashamed for the decision. Why didn't the parents sue the batter for swinging too hard? Sue the baseball manufacturer because the ball was too hard while you're at it.

If the batter has to wear a batting helmet why can't a pitcher wear one as well? Is this a cure, probably not but a helmet might have saved this kids life.

As far as McDonald's goes, coffee is hot and we all know it. Temperature is an after thought when we buy coffee. We know it is hot and putting it between your knees while the car is moving is asking for trouble.

McDonald's and Louisville Slugger got screwed.

SportsFilter: The Friday Huddle

If you go back and watch the replays, Troy had position on the receiver and the receiver pushed him off. How that is a penalty on Troy, is beyond me. The out of bounds penalty was pretty ticky-tack. The runner had not established being out of bounds but was in the air.

It was a great game all-in-all and I'm glad I was there to feel the excitement of the evening.

I'm sure NBC did a terrible job of bringing that feeling into your homes. I do know they sure bring a halt to the flow of the game with all the damn commercials. It was awful. Wait for what seemed like 10 minutes for any kickoff. They finally kickoff and after the play is over, you wait another 10 minutes. I doubt anything can or will be done but it sure is a buzz kill.
