As the newspaper says at the end of the game: "blahblahblahblahblah!" When people ask me what the internet is REALLY for, I will point to this and say "For this!" I wonder how many times they had to do the hit down first base before the guy would actually muff the play...
Unbelievable. When people say I spend too much time on SportsFilter, I will point to this. Not that I don't spend too much time on SportsFilter. I am neither a Mets nor a Red Sox fan, but that game is so unbelievably gripping I could watch it in an interminable loop and never tire of it. If I was trapped on a desert island and could only have one baseball game, that might be it. #1 World Series game of my lifetime for sure: 1. Game 6, 1986. 2. Game 7, 1991. 3. Game 6, 1975. 4. Game 4, 1996. 5. Game 6, 1985. 6. Game 1, 1988. 7. Game 6, 1977. 8. Game 7, 2001. 9. Game 4, 2001. 10. Game 5, 2001.
brilliant. buckner was made into such a patsy by idiot resox fans.
Friggin Brilliant. I'm not a Red Sox fan, I'm not a NY fan of any kind. But boy do I love baseball. Great job, thanks for the time put into it.
Chilling. Even though I knew the outcome... even though I've healed immeasurably since 1986... even though it was RBI Baseball, fer chrissake... I still cried.
Wicked Awesome. I can't remember how we played that game - the controller only has two buttons. Nice again to be reminded how understated a pro like Vin Scully is - that game would have given Jon Miller a heart attack. Dan Shulman is pretty awesome though. Two "awesome"s in one post. I am officially not cool anymore. What's worse - I'm beyond help.
That was super. go internet!
I'm pretty sure it was Joe Garagiola there being smart enough to keep his trap shut during the bottom of the 10th. Someone please send this to Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver. Wonderful link.

I am glad I am not the only one who can not listen to those two. McCarver says the obvious and acts like it is keen insight.
Oh, the horror ...
Don't get me started on Tim Freaking McCarver
That was so freakin' sweet. I wanted to say awesome, but it's been taken by everybody else. Ditto on the kudos for Scully. This could have been a link to the audio alone and I would've enjoyed it. I want to see this guy reenact Super Bowl XXV in Tecmo Super Bowl next... (Norwood is wide right!)
I cannot imagine the pain Red Sox fans have had prior to 2004. Then again, maybe I can since every Sunday in the fall I get to suffer through the Lions...
