Going to a Super Bowl chili cookoff :) Wife and I took second last year, and we aim to win it all in 2004! ;)

I'll be in Indy with my gf, celebrating her birthday. For the actual Super Bowl, however, I'll be in my car driving home, so I may be the only man in America not watching it on the tube.

Sitting somewhere with a beer in one hand and the hose of my shisha in the other, praying that if there's ever a nuke at a Super Bowl that it's not this year as my girlfriend lives about 3/4ths of a mile from the stadium.

The same thing I've done for the past 7 years: get together with the poker buddies, play 6 hours of poker while making wild-ass side bets on the game. Such bets have included:John Madden saying "Now here's the thing..." or "Boom!" in the next 10 minutes.A gratuitous cheerleader shot will be before the next commercial break.Which team suffers the first injury requiring being carried/carted/helped off.If either of the final scores will be a prime number.

I expect the wife and I to be home alone, eating a roasted chicken and bok choy around 6:30, with me blogging the ads in real time (or at least I did the past two SBs). Sadly, I no longer drink enough alcohol to be worth mentioning. OT: Smithers, after your mentioning this conference I trundled over to your blog where I found the latest entry, the quote from Michel Foucault, and now my head hurts. How can you post something like that with no comment or explanation?

I'm not sure of the time difference, but I already have the Monday booked off work. American Football is normally on late here so I imagine I'll be sat at home swilling beers until the early hours, probably snacking on anything "American" I can find at my local supermarket.

i'll be at a hotel in Switzerland. asleep I guess. interesting Super Bowl fact: this is the second Super Bowl in a row for which I have been living in Scotland but have not been home in Scotland to watch (not that I have a TV anyway, but you know). But otherwise I will be probably dreaming of good food and beer and a good game of some sort.

Wow, do you have an Argos jersey with "GEEK" on the back? :) I prefer "nerd", thank you very much. And it's a Leaf jersery. And 10 of the last 13 Super Bowls have had at least one team finish with a prime number (7, 13, 17 (3 times), 19 (2 times), 23, 31, 37), so it's a pretty good bar bet to make sometime. Overall, it's been 20 of the 37 Super Bowls, including Super Bowls IV (Chiefs 23, Vikings 7) and XIV (Steelers 31, Rams 19) where BOTH teams had prime numbers.
