Fantasy American Football Apologies if there is already one posted, couldn't find it in the search. Is someone going to start a football league? After taking a couple of years off, fantasy sports are calling me back. I wasn't ready to commit to baseball this year, but football seems to be a good idea. Anyone want to start it? How about trying fleaflicker.com?

Technical foul called on referee Did an NBA referee bet on games, and make calls affecting the point spreads of those games he worked? The FBI is checking on this one.

ACC admits to 'timing error' in final seconds in Duke win over Clemson. Using the video supplied by ESPN on the page, it is clear that the winning basket would not have been made in time, and the game should have gone into overtime. Everyone always complains how the referees 'play favorites' for Duke...this is an example.

I went to my first White Sox game this year. I know people are all happy they won the world series, and they don't want anyone to forget that. In fact, they say it about 3743242390489023 times before the game starts. Yes, we know, get on with the game. Also, the seats in the upper deck were so steep, I had vertigo the whole game. I'm not a fan, so I doubt I go back. However tonight, I'm going to go sit in the drizzling rain to watch the cubs lose to the dodgers. Now that's fan appeal.

Big Ben the newest Chicago Bull? He wasn't happy with the Pistons initial offer. So Wallace will sign with the Bulls for $52 Mill over 4 years. True Hoop has a good recap of how the story could develop. Still waiting for reaction from Blog-a-Bull.

Mavs win! Mavs win! Or at least, that's DaveSez's ironclad prediction, based on... the number of ACC alums on each team. Fun little analysis, if perhaps a little skewed by a certain UNC guy.

A Timeout To Kill The insidious clock-stopping menace that's destroying the NBA.
Fans who slept through Monday night's Mavericks-Spurs game will wake up to read that Dallas pulled off a "thrilling" victory in a series that was "as good as basketball gets." I'll give it to you straight, sleepyheads: Reading about it was a lot more fun than watching it.

I'm with Bill Simmons in that coaches hoarding these timeouts merely to advance the ball up the court is stupid. Just because you saved a timeout you don't have to bring the ball up? The other team should have a chance to force the issue. A timeout should merely be a TIMEOUT, a stoppage of play. There should be no advantage gain from it.
New sheriff in town. Two OT's. Five games decided by five points or less. Two games decided by one point. Mavericks win the series. One for the ages.

White Sox and Cubs brawl. Cubs manager Dusty Baker has no problem with Pierzynski, but Rich Hill does, calling the collision "gutless" and "pathetic". White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen's response?
"Tell that Triple-A [bleep] to shut the [bleep] up. Tell him to start throwing some strikes or he's going to get Dusty fired."
Any questions?

It's all sissyfied.I dont expect anything less from a team that's touted as winners all the time, with loser fans and bad management to pull what they did. Uh yeah, I take offense to this. Really classy to assume that all cub's fans are losers. We have our own share of losers, but no more than any other team. I do see the cubs touted as winners either, except for the brief anamoly in 2003, which ultimately ended up as a great act of losing.
Memphis's Dire Situation As a reward for beating the Los Angles Clippers out for the 5th seed, the Memphis Grizzlies get the pleasure of playing the Dallas Mavericks in the FIRST ROUND of the NBA playoffs...while the Clippers will HOST the Denver Nuggets at the same time...

Keyshawn to Panthers Keyshawn Johnson is going to the Panthers in a $19 million deal with a $5 million signing bonus he negotiated personally. This should be good to see Steve Smith fight for the 1 spot.

Oral Roberts University's odds of winning the NCAA men's hoops tourney are five sextillion to one. So they have that going for them. Which is nice.
