Suddenly, I'm not very comfortable in my chair.

Certainly is a lot of injured wangs on that team, huh?

At least it was fixable with a few stitches. For former Portsmouth and Uruguay striker Dario Silva, the news is not as good.

yikes! How many times do you think this has happened before? Another reason why Americans don't like soccer, you might lose your nuts.

About 30 years ago now, in a Rugby League match in Sydney, Australia, Penrith player Mick Stephenson also suffered a split scrotum. At half time, they stitched it temporarily to the inside of his thigh, and then he went out and played the rest of the match. Now try sitting comfortably!

30 million love it........I hate it!!! I cant wait for the Wizards to move their A_ _es out of Arrowhead and let the Chiefs have their stadium back. How many Football players have their scrotums split?? And they say soccer is not as violent as football....De DE DEEE

The fact that the injury merited a whole page on the ESPN site would suggest that it's a very rare occurence. PS If you don't like football you could always just ignore the thread.

CHIEF FAN: Your first post on this site, and that's it? Until you read the guidelines, perhaps you should refrain from commenting.

At least it was fixable with a few stitches. With all due respect, worldcup, any number of stitches in my scrotum is too many!

posted by The_Black_Hand at 10:03 AM on September 27, 2006

With all due respect, Black Hand, I did read the guidelines and no where in them did it say that I could not post an opinion......Which is just what I did. Everyone is entitled to MY opinion. PS you could always just ignore my post

posted by CHIEF FAN at 09:42 PM on September 27, 2006

And we all know what opinions are like don't we. Folks let me introduce you to our newest opinion.... welcome, CHIEF FAN. Since the guidelines didn't, maybe this will help.

CHIEF FAN: I could also ignore a lump of dog crap in the sidewalk, too, but I prefer to step around it. One of the bedrock rules of this online community: if you don't like a sport, it's best to keep it to yourself. If soccer is important enough for someone else to post an FPP, and important enough to others to post regarding it, then you have the responsibility as a member of this site not to shit all over somebody else's discussion by loudly trumpeting your disdain for the sport being discussed. Believe me, nobody here gives a rat's ass about whether you like soccer or not. If "I hate it" is the best you can come up with, then just don't comment. Period.
