Hidden: T.O. visits Denver for face to face with Shanahan - : Another team the "Denver Broncos" seem ready to take a chance on the NFL's #1 total headcase. [Ala Kings Artest], can Shanahan make this knucklehead a positve contributer or are the Broncos about to go the way of the Eagles? Is T.O. worth the risk? I say Hell YES !!!

From a bronco fans perspective: Aww shit!

From a SportsFilter.com user's perspective: get a link! And maybe a story that's actually newsworthy while you're at it.

Here is your link doc. It must have been worthy to you . You spent your valuable time to read and reply. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/01/30/owens.broncos.ap/index.html

If they structure his contract the way a sane individual would then they wont have any problems out of TO. If they dont well..

I think it would be amazing to see him as a raider between to and Randy moss. That would be a great receiving group.

posted by jtrluva at 02:30 PM on January 31, 2006

I think that his track record shows that any team that takes a chance on him is risking the franchise as a whole. As a Chiefs fan, I think that would help our chances of winning the AFC West.

It must have been worthy to you . You spent your valuable time to read and reply. That's because I want this site to feature good content and discussion, not just a copy of every newswire item about any notorious sports celebrity followed by a dozen people saying "T.O. should be on MY team".

Official message to anyone considering signing Leon, I mean, T.O: Stop! Put the checkbook down and back away slowly! Life in the NFL isn't so bad, there's NO reason to throw it all away like this... Come back from the edge, we'll get you some help, trust me...

Fuck TO!! As an Eagles fan, I was happy to see him come to the team as long as he "behaved", well we all know what soon ensued. As a non-Bronco fan I hope he goes to Denver, how long til he leaves the team in shambles? The man is a cancer, in the locker room and in the stands. He doesnt belong in NFL-Europe, he doesnt belong in the CFL, he doesnt belong in society(that may be a bit harsh, but hey, Im still pissed at him) I certainly wouldnt invite him to dinner. The saddest part is that he is and was an unbelievable football player, its just too bad his "good intentions" are just as unbelievable. Believe me, you dont want TO on your team.

Dr.John Most people will say TO SHOULDN'T be on my team. Thank God the Steelers aren't interested in his crap.

posted by scottypup at 02:47 PM on January 31, 2006

scottypup, I second that emotion.

T.O. has troubles wherever he's at. I would not want him on my favorite team even if he had to pay them to play.

posted by Tigger at 02:53 PM on January 31, 2006

Hmmmmm Broncos or raiders ? maybe he can play for both of them. then they both could go to the toilet bowl. In flushing NY. of course !!!! LOL

posted by Tigger at 03:02 PM on January 31, 2006

It would be best for the entire NFL and all of us to forget this asshole ever existed.

posted by njsk8r20 at 03:02 PM on January 31, 2006

Anyone notice that toilet starts with T.O. !!

posted by Tigger at 03:06 PM on January 31, 2006

I'm not talking from a behavior point of view just the talent between the two would be crazy.

DrJohnEvans is correct in his opinion, in my opinion, that this is a very weak link. While I did bother to respond it does not reflect my interest in this thread. My post is simply to agree with the good Doctor.

If T.O. behaved I would like to see him back with the Eagles GO EAGLES!

posted by Dav at 03:25 PM on January 31, 2006

Doesn't he have to go to a team where the coaches ego is bigger than his?

posted by tmart937 at 03:30 PM on January 31, 2006

T.O. will be successful somewhere. Yes he is a jerk but some teams will put up with him and make it work. Just structure the contract for an easy painless exit if he causes the team problems, and get him a better quarterback than McNabb. Let's face it, T.O. had a big mouth, and he said a lot of things that pissed off his coaches and fellow teammates, but unfortunately for the Eagles he was telling the truth. Sometimes telling the truth can be detrimental for the team.

posted by Atheist at 03:33 PM on January 31, 2006

Atheist, were you paying attention at all last year? All I heard was some flabbergasting big mouth bullshit. TO is more than a jerk he just maybe insane. At any rate he is a moron. Incredible athlete he is, however, he will ruin any team he "signs" with. In that case, he should sign with Dallas. I would love to see them implode. No scruples, no morals, no pride. The Eagles(and Mcnabb) will be just fine without him, the rest of the league should take note.

posted by GoBirds at 03:57 PM on January 31, 2006

T.O. could very well be one of the best if not the best receiver in the NFL as far as natural talent is concerned. However his antics on and off the field are a total distraction to whoever he plays for. He'd have to pull a total 180 to be productive, and it will take a few years of good behavior before he's able to be a possible franchise player again. If he doesn't quaterbacks, receivers, and lineman will not want to play around him nor will any front office put up with him. Without a change in behavior, T.O. will be the biggest flop and waste of natural talent in the NFL.

Here is a list of wide receivers eligible for free agency in 2006. Someone pass it along to Mike Shanahan. Oh, and this post did suck.

...and get him a better quarterback than McNabb. No problem! I'm sure that Jake will be his "be all" QB! ;0) As a Charges fan I'd be happy to let Denver or Kansas City have him! I just wonder how many teams have to be destroyed before he's finally abandoned by the NFL. Toad

posted by Toad8572 at 04:01 PM on January 31, 2006

yes, work him into the offense. Just don't get too dependent. keep a short leash

posted by caselaw at 04:03 PM on January 31, 2006

Short leash? I'd prefer they keep him in a cage...heh

RELAX!!! Go easy on Norcalifun530... This is as interesting and relevant a topic as anything else. The story of where T.O. is gonna end up is the second biggest story in the NFL right now, after the Super Bowl. If you’re not interested in a topic (like I wasn’t in the previous topic, “Heavy NFL players twice as likely to die before 50”) YOU DON’T HAVE TO READ IT!!! The rest of us having to read YOUR complaints is just as much a waste of time as you consider this topic to be. That said… If T.O thinks he’s getting a “better” quarterback in Jake Plummer than he had in Donovan McNabb, he’s got another thing coming. Plummer is definitely no upgrade over McNabb… T.O. and Jake the Snake will be feuding by game five next year…

If the Lions where smart they would pick up T.O. to get the heat off of Mat Millen. The fans in Detriot would have someone to hate and blame even more than Millen then!!!!!!!!

Toad, You hush your mouth about Kansas City. We dont need someone like TO on our team to beat the Charges. Hey, at least I can spell CHIEFS correctly.

posted by smokinskull at 04:16 PM on January 31, 2006

Amazing the polarizing effect TO has on these chatlines. NO one can spell. So called "fans" calling out allegiance to teams whose coaches they cant even name. Good riddance TO, go ruin another team. Can we all please move on?

posted by GoBirds at 04:26 PM on January 31, 2006

T.O. would be great on a team like the Steelers. Cower is the kind of coach that will kick his ass if he doesn't behave. Cower could probably control that spoiled brat easily. Hell he is a great athlete and with a no nonsense coach to put him in his place well he can get back to catching passes. Look how Mike Tyson behaved during the time he had Cus Damatto. Well for T.O. he just needs a kick ass daddy like Cower to show him how to behave and not put up with his shit.

posted by Atheist at 04:29 PM on January 31, 2006

Hey, at least I can spell CHIEFS correctly. Good point; the next time we have a spelling bee, I'll call ya. I wonder if TO can tackle; we already know that he can make passes fall harmlessly to the ground. The ChargeRs need a good safety, and TO couldn't complain about badly thrown passes;0)

Atheist: It's Cowher, Bill Cowher. And Cowher an the Rooney family would never have him. Heck, Plaxico Burress was too much of a whiner for them, and now he is in NY

posted by scully at 05:06 PM on January 31, 2006

Love him or hate him his talent speaks volumes, with a no bullshit clause in his contract this is a no brainer. Can he make the Broncos a better team? YES Any B.S. send him packing as they did Maurice.
