T.O. visits Denver for face to face with Shanahan - Another team the "Denver Broncos" seem ready to take a chance on the NFL's #1 total headcase. [Ala Kings Artest], can Shanahan make this knucklehead a positve contributer or are the Broncos about to go the way of the Eagles? Is T.O. worth the risk? I say Hell YES !!!

RELAX!!! Go easy on Norcalifun530... This is as interesting and relevant a topic as anything else. The story of where T.O. is gonna end up is the second biggest story in the NFL right now, after the Super Bowl. If you're not interested in a topic (like I wasn't in the previous topic, "Heavy NFL players twice as likely to die before 50") YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ IT!!! The rest of us having to read YOUR complaints is just as much a waste of time as you consider this topic to be. That said If T.O thinks he's getting a "better" quarterback in Jake Plummer than he had in Donovan McNabb, he's got another thing coming. Plummer is definitely no upgrade over McNabb T.O. and Jake the Snake will be feuding by game five next year
Washington Nationals Face Washington Locals "The D.C. Council is trying to walk away from the agreement that brought the team here," Major League President Bob DuPuy writes in today's Washington Post. A battle over paying cost overruns on the new Anacostia River stadium could be the third strike for baseball in the nation's capitol.

Those are all very interesting scenarios, but none are likely to happen The reality is that the Nats are worth FAR too much to the MLB owners right where they are in Washington DC. They want their $450 million, and they want it sooner rather than later. The DC area proved this past season that they are a more viable MLB market than 11 current teams in terms of attendance and that's at old rickety RFK. With a new stadium, and a resolution to the TV contract issue, there's no telling how high attendance can go. The team's prospective buyers know this, and so does MLB. This standoff will most likely end in compromise. Never underestimate the power of greed If you're interested in how it's really most likely to play out, read this article by respected baseball mind Thomas Boswell. He's hit the nail right on the head

You know Penny still gave the kid the 500 bucks... they're just keeping it on the downlow so he doesn't get in any more trouble... It's the least he can do... The entire Marlins organization, especially Jeffery Loria, are a buncha crapbags... Remember what he did to the Expos!?

I haven't lived in Montreal since I was a kid, but I've been an Expos fan for 20+ years myself. I guess I'm not as bitter about the move as the fans that still live there. I understand that they are upset, but the bottom line is that the team had no future in that city without some people in the stands. The city of Montreal let that tem die by not showing up. The second the current collective bargaining agreement expired, that team would have been contracted had they stayed in Montreal. The owners would've finished what they started years ago. Now, my favorite team may have a new name and a new city, but at least they still exist, and I can breathe easy knowing they will for years to come. Add some new owners with some deep pockets, and they might even have a chance to compete on an even playing field with the big guys. You'd never have been able to say that about the Montreal Expos

I think it was a brilliant comeback... Zidane: "If you want my shirt so bad, you can have it after the match...!" Materazzi: "Heh, I'd rather have your sister's shirt!" Next time somebody asks me if I want their shirt I'm using that line!
