League, union haven't talked about issue recently: If Bud is so excited by the idea that baseball can solve the steroid problem, the question is, "Why don't they?"

As I understand the rumors, they're waiting for Damon's and Clemens' failed test results to come out, then they're really going to get tough.

As I understand the rumors, they're waiting for Damon's and Clemens' failed test results to come out, then they're really going to get tough. All of the places that dabble in rumour-mongering are saying the same thing: Damon and Clemens get busted on Friday. If we make it to Saturday and those names aren't mentioned as being suspended, a whole lotta web sites are going to look foolish.

I heard the same rumor, although the concensus was that it wasnt Damon, but Gabe Kapler. He has always been suspected of being juiced, plus he played in Japan last year....probably because he got a heads up that this shit storm was coming.. probably thought he could clean up while he was there and some of it is still in his system... As for Clemens, things are starting to make sense...

If there is a God, it's clemens. I don't have a whole lotta faith however (pun intended).

yea i've heard about this, but what sites are speculating about this??

See here, here and here. But see here regarding Damon. Heck, run a google news search on roger + clemens + steroids, sort by date and you'll get a whole lot of stuff from today in actual newspapers.

No freaking way! Clemens?!? Awesome. Actually, it's a little disappointing. He would go from the best pitcher I ever saw, one of the best of all time (he was on the All-Century team for god's sake) to a bum in less than a copyline. I could care less about Hollywood Johnny Damon.

Ohhh ,so that's why Damon was hiding behind that Grizzly Adams get-up last season .

It does have "witch hunt" feel to it. I will wait to here the names "for real" before throw somebody under the bus.

Bud Selig excited ? That's definitely an oxymoron .

As for Clemens, things are starting to make sense... Like all them kids with names starting with K? (they're gonna revenge themselves with decades of ugly ties for Father's Day)

No freaking way! Clemens?!? Awesome. If there is a God, it's clemens. I just don't see where the joy is in finding out a star baseball player has tested positive for steroids. I can understand not liking a specific player (for one reason or another) but a positive steroid test (especially for a inner-circle HOF'er like Clemens) is a real black mark on the sport. I like baseball too much to wish a positive test on any star player. Really, on any player whatsoever, but I don't think baseball looks all that bad when Alex Sanchez or Ryan Franklin get suspended. If Clemens turns out to be one of the ones testing positive, that's bad. There are only a few other players in baseball that testing positive for steroids would be WORSE for baseball:

  1. Derek Jeter - Tim McCarver would kill himself if this was true.
  2. Albert Pujols - Probably the best young player in the game today.
  3. Miguel Cabrera - Another superstar youngster.
  4. Andruw Jones - The current NL HR leader.
  5. Alex Rodriguez - The best AL player for the past 5 years.
  6. Ken Griffey Jr. - One of the good boys of baseball.

grum, it's a different world down here. You need to accept that some Sox fans are never going to forgive him for leaving us in a crappy paradox. He went away and became amazing again. But if he stayed, he probably would have morphed into Denny McLain without the jail time.

Maybe the internet is closed for new information until Monday which is probably why it hasn't come out yet.
