Psychic Octopus predicts England loss to Germany: "Paul has correctly predicted all the German wins and defeats in this World Cup competition so far from his tank in the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany."

There were five players chosen ahead of Derek Jeter in the '92 MLB draft. What are they doing today?:
“The only thing I regret is not taking steroids, as bad as it sounds,” [Mottola] said. “I’m not mad at them. I’m more mad at the system that allowed it to happen. Maybe if I had done it, I’d be living the way they’re living. But I know the way I played, and I’m not bitter at all.”

The understated elegance of the Yankees' Rivera.: “For what he does, he’s maybe the most dominant athlete other than Bill Russell that I know,” [Reggie] Jackson said. “But it’s also in the way he does it. Quiet. Humble. Mariano is regal, baseball royalty.”

Rock Jocks: 20 People Who Made the Cut in Both Music and Sports: "Joe Frazier could pack a punch as a boxer, but he was hitless as a singer. Deion Sanders was great at baseball and football, but he dropped the ball as a hip-hop act -- and let's never speak of the rapping of basketball's Shaquille O'Neal and soccer's Andy Cole. In contrast, these 20 people have had notable forays in music and athletics, proving that as hard as it is to make it in one, it's even harder to succeed in both."

'Ford won the fourth game, and the Yankees had their sweep.'
Should they have played three more just so Whitey could pitch in the seventh?

Wait until the team implodes then hire them all back to answer phone calls from angry season-ticket holders.
Problem solved!

TWO flights? Wouldn't you usually have to turn the corner to get to the second flight? Sounds fishy to me.

The Jazz will take him. They don't have anybody else.

"I still have yet to see Strasburg pitch because Major League Baseball has deemed that Raleigh is in the DC baseball market."
That's OK, Salt Lake City is in the Diamondbacks' market AND the Rockies'. 525 miles one way, 535 the other.

It shows how completely I have ignored the NBA for years that I figured this was some sort of joke, whereby the writer took a LeBron James story and inserted the name of some bench-warmer, in order to make it look like the Knicks weren't interested in LeBron all along but some no-namer.
Imagine my surprise when I googled Chris Paul.

He really didn't seem to hit that hard. I've seen many sand pit rides that looked worse, and the driver walked away unscathed.
