Comments are closed for this entry.: Just wondering what's up with most of the locker room topics being closed. I was hoping to find out if gspm was alright. (by posting on the last EPL update)

Comments are closed because that thread is over a month old.

If (loopCount++ > 2) exit

That should fix it, Terrapin.

It appears they're closed from Nov. 17th on.

Oops -- I just rechecked. It is 14 days. It will go back to 28 days when I reinstate the old SportsFilter design for discussion pages, which should be today or tomorrow.

What's up with the (Choose one)?

If you have to ask, you don't get to choose.

Ayn Rand says I can comment in any thread I like.

Yeoman Rand says I can comment in the threads I don't like.

My Rand reference: Star Trek Rand had hots for: Captain Kirk

Don't comment! It only makes the altruists happy.

THX, wouldn't that make your rand, er, randy?

posted by apoch at 03:50 PM on December 06, 2008

Quite.

But poor her. Kirk hit on every chick in the galaxy except her. Guess it was the basket-weave hairdo.

Back to the geekosphere.

THX, don't feel too sorry since the actress who played Rand was married to Gene Roddenberry. Which also probably explains the lack of Kirk kissing for her character.

posted by billsaysthis at 12:34 PM on December 07, 2008

Actually, bill, Gene Roddenberry was married to Majel Barrett who played nurse Chapel. Her character had a major crush on Mr. Spock that was to be unrequited. I see a theme here. It was rumored that Nichelle Nichols and Gene Roddenberry had a little fling during the series. She did get to kiss Kirk, although it was under the control of an alien race that could force people to do things against their will. Like get close to William Shatner's mouth.

Grace Lee Whitney was Yeoman Rand. She killed Spock's replacement in the first Star Trek movie.

Interestingly, I talk a lot of sports on the Trek site I blog on. I'll now be taping my glasses back together, thank you.

EPL pool folks - I am okay though more or less threw my hands up because the new spofi code made the old tried and true, oiled to perfection, EPL update thread creation a chore.

I have been keeping track of the info though, so it is not lost to the ether. I just missed one week, one became two and then my PhD defence was scheduled and things fall by the wayside.

gspm, I say, make it easy. Let's just all agree that I'm winning, then disband the league. No, no, no...thanks aren't necessary. I'm just thinking of you, Doctor.
