Sports Bio

I've been a Dodgers and Colts fan since I was old enough to get hooked on sports. I do not play any sports recreationally unless you call poker a sport.

When Frank Williams loses his wallet he replaces his ID with a baseball card.: "He began life as an orphan abandoned in Seattle, grew up in foster homes and made it all the way to the top of professional baseball. And then it all disappeared in a bad marriage, alcoholism and a horrific car crash."

The Last Go Round: "I think we’re lucky as Pirates fans that we got to witness that Bonds, up close and personal for more than six years, three of them coming with him at the height of his prowess. And while it would have been nice if he’d stuck around a little longer, we’ll never have to live with the legacy of doubt that surrounded him in his later years."

The Saturday game: precursors modern day poker nights. An excellent story about a group of guys that started meetnig up on Saturdays in 1971 to play hoops.

Mike Royko: (a legendary columnist) reminisces about his life, his father's bar and his favorite sport --16-inch softball -- in this never before seen film from his favorite saloon, The Billy Goat Tavern. (via Coudal)

He won within the rules. If you are looking for it to be unsportsmanlike like it will be unsportsmanlike. Personally, there's no way I could have kept up with his adding and dropping.

Dodgers win their first playoff series in 20 years.

As a homer, but realistic, Dodger fan I would like to think the Cub's really didn't choke ... but rather the Dodgers just made them look pretty bad. I think game 1, that was pretty much the case.

But in game 2 ... watching in real time, I honestly thought the Cubs were blowing the game on purpose. Those three errors should not have happened. They looked as if they didn't care. While I really doubt they threw the series, they played like something is going on, and it isn't pretty. I actually felt bad for Zambrano.

Game 3 ... aside from maybe two players, the Cubs looked like they didn't care.

My QBS are Warner, Bulger and Trent Edwards. Uber ouch. I need 7 points from Roddy White to win my first week.
