Rumple still has the lead, but Fritsy and Bo rocketed up the standings.

Round 3 rules are as follows: - 2 points for picking the team that wins its series. - 1 bonus point for picking the correct number of games a series lasts (You still have to get the series winner right). - 2 points each for picking the player from either team who scores the most goals in the series (pick one from each team, possible for 4 points here). - 5 bonus points for getting all picks correct in a series (that's getting the winning team right, the series length right and both goal scorers right). Some serious points can be won here.

My picks: Eastern Conference Pittsburgh (Malkin) over Philadelphia (Briere) in 7 games. Western Conference Detroit (Datsyuk) over Dallas (Morrow) in 6 games. Thus setting up the NHL's dream Cup Finals. Sid v. the mighty Red Wings.

East: Pittsburgh (Malkin) over Philadelphia (Richards) in 5 games West: Detroit (Zetterberg) over Dallas (Lehtinen) in 6 games

Detroit in 5 Zetterberg, Morrow Pittsburgh in 7 Hossa, Briere (though I'm tempted to go with Umberger, but I think that was just a total fluke)

And here's the (not up to date) Confidence Pool leaderboard, since it's been bumped off the front page.

OK, I think I've spotted you all enough of a lead. Detroit (Zetterberg) over Dallas (Morrow) in 5 games Philadelphia (Briere) over Pittsburgh (Malkin) in 7 games

Well, I can't win the confidence pool, and I'm doomed in this one unless I go underdogs and longshots from here on out. Oh well, let's go for gold! East: Pittsburgh (Crosby) over Philadelphia (Briere) in 4 games Dallas (Morrow) over Detroit (Franzen) in 4 games.

Philly (Briere) over Pitt (Crosby) in 6 games Dallas (Morrow) over Detroit (Datsyuk) in 6 games

Eastern Conference Philadelphia (Richards) over Pittsburgh (Crosby) in 5 games. Western Conference Detroit (Zetterberg) over Dallas (Morrow) in 5 games.

Philadelphia (Richards) over Pittsburgh (Crosby) in 5 games. Dallas (Morrow) over Detroit (Datsyuk) in 6 games

The confidence pool has been updated. Pittsburgh (Crosby) over Philadephia (Lupul) in 5 Detroit (Franzen) over Dallas (Modano) in 6

I am basically in the basement in all pools so....here goes nothing. In the Battle of the D cities (alphabetical not grades) wings (Zetterberg) over stars (Morrow) in 7 games In the Battle for Penn's Wood (or the P cities) flightless birds (Crosby) over flyers (Richards) in 6 games

MP-No complaining about being a cellar dweller when yer steppin' on my head! Wings (Zetterberg) over Stars (Richards) in 5. Pens (Malone) over Flyers (Briere) in 6. I know y'all are trembling at my mad prognosticatin' skills

I am perfectly fine with the Wings over the Stars in five actually.

Wings (Franzen) over Dallas (Morrow) in 5 Penguins (Hossa) over Flyers (Umberger) in 5 Can I still get the Costanza?

Not with those picks.

Philadephia (Lupul) over Pittsburgh (Hossa) in 7 Dallas (Morrow) over Detroit (Zetterberg) in 6

Sorry rumple and Fritsy, but you two were too late with your picks. You are automatically disqualified from this contest. You two guys plus BoKnows, 86, Folkways and mkn are all out. Guess makes me the new leader.

That plan works for me.

Oh yeah, you're out too.

Rightly so, I guess, since you're making up stats anyway.

The chart above shows that I picked Philadelphia to win the Colorado / Detroit series... And got it right! That has to be worth a x2 points multiplier based on degree of difficulty. I now have 32 points.

Oops. What else did I eff up?

Tahoe I'm only steppin on your head because of the alphabet.

Tahoe I'm only steppin on your head because of the alphabet. Monica, when it comes to these things, take any advantage you can. NoMich, I didn't bother looking up who the highest goal scorers were, but other than that, you have/had all my picks right. I still think that I should have received and extra point or two though in the first round for being the only person to correctly pick Sykora. Oh, and now your gonna give an extra five points for correctly picking every part of a series. You bastard.

I also want some second-round points because I would have got it all correct. Except for Philadelphia. And Dallas. And Franzen. And Morrow.
