What? Thats it? Where is the report?

posted by StarFucker at 03:16 PM on April 17, 2003

StarFucker (I hate to say it) may indeed be out of my reach, but Mossy and FB are not! Isn't second place here like winning the FA Cup? (Or is it more like the Worthington Cup?)

posted by trox at 03:37 PM on April 17, 2003

Trust me, i am out of reach for everyone... There are 5-6 games left...who the hell is going to beat me by 40+ points every week, 5 weeks in a row?!

posted by StarFucker at 04:09 PM on April 17, 2003

Why isn't Man U v Arsenal included? Yahoo gobshites have weighted this in favour of Starfucker. Trox, are you mad?

posted by Fat Buddha at 06:05 PM on April 17, 2003

It's not reflected in the score? That gives me two things to be angry about! Aresenal can't win at home again (you'd think ManU was Roma or Ajax) and I don't get points for Ruud's goal! Grumble, grumble.

posted by trox at 06:14 PM on April 17, 2003

It'll be included next week, fellows, next week.

posted by worldcup2002 at 07:22 PM on April 17, 2003

Whats the point? Just give me the trophy now.

posted by StarFucker at 07:46 PM on April 17, 2003

Starfucker, old chap, you can choose your trophy, here

posted by Fat Buddha at 04:34 AM on April 18, 2003

I'm afraid to go to that website while at work...

posted by StarFucker at 08:31 AM on April 18, 2003

FB: You should be kicked off SpoFi for posting that. I'd just finished my breakfast when I clicked the link. Shithead.

posted by worldcup2002 at 09:33 AM on April 18, 2003

So it was bad, huh?

posted by StarFucker at 09:57 AM on April 18, 2003

Let's just say it was disturding. btw, what would be a good SpoFi EPL Fantasy League trophy? Links or pictures would be appreciated. (Except FB's. Groan.)

posted by StarFucker at 11:59 AM on April 18, 2003

That was intentional, you moronic rabid baboon assclown! Here's your trophy:

God, sometimes I feel my subtle and urbane wit is wasted on the unwashed Fooker.

No fair reusing a pic that's already been posted on SpoFi, corpse. But, LOL! Hahahahahahahaha. That would be perfect for StarTucker!

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:55 PM on April 18, 2003

I think its official...corpse's trophy is the Yahoo Premiership Fantasy League Trophy!

posted by StarFucker at 01:48 PM on April 18, 2003

Now all we need is a picture of SF kissing it.

posted by worldcup2002 at 03:18 PM on April 18, 2003

We could photoshop... Whoever wins Fantasy Leagues gets photoshopped into that picture!! HAHAHHA!! That would be hilarious!

posted by StarFucker at 03:38 PM on April 18, 2003

I should do well this week. Goals for Shearer, Van Nistelrooy (plus an assist) and Scholes (two!), as well as an assist from Dunn should do me nicely.

posted by worldcup2002 at 11:04 AM on April 19, 2003

Hehe.. Goal and an assist for Henry.. Goal for Shearer.. Goal for Van Nistelrooy (plus an assist) and his goal vs Arsenal.. Goal x 2 for Scholes.. Goal for Murphy.. Apparently Brad Friedel finished off with a crapload of good saves too and j.lloyd had a good game - you watch your back worldcup ;)

posted by Mossy at 03:11 PM on April 19, 2003

Murphy's goal was an absolute beaut. And he nearly topped it straight after with a superb volley that went just wide. Goal of the Season missed by a foot. It always amazes me that SF slags him off.

posted by squealy at 07:26 PM on April 19, 2003

Who knows, Murphy might cost SF the Fantasy League championship ...

posted by worldcup2002 at 12:21 AM on April 20, 2003

I think Fat Buddha and I have had a moderately successful week so far.. Pulled back 100 points on SF already :) I only pulled back 1 point on him though :-/

posted by Mossy at 09:51 AM on April 20, 2003

Holy moly! Did you see FB's score? With four games to go, he's about 99 points shy of SF. That means he needs to score 25 points more than SF every remaining week. Not as daunting as it looks, chappies, given that FB has bested SF by almost 30 points the past two weeks, and this week, by 111 pts (!!!) so far. We still have a full slate of games tomorrow and one more on Tuesday to round up this week. This is more exciting than the Arsenal/Man U race! More stressful than finding out who will join WBA and Sunderland for the drop back to the First Division!

what. the. fuck. soccer. i'm in 8th now.

wc2002 or anyone. Can you post the latest table please? I can't get there, presumably cos I ain't registered. Go FB. :-)

posted by squealy at 05:39 PM on April 20, 2003

Another bad week? Well, i don't think its possible to have anymore...FB, it was a valiant effort, but your good luck will end...i will regain a 200 point lead after today's games. And i'm suckin' in MLS...

posted by StarFucker at 09:05 AM on April 21, 2003

squealy: I'd like to wait until today's and tomorrow's games are done. But I understand your predicament. Let me see what I can do in about two hours.

Here you go, squealy - standings as of today, including Saturday's games. I will post this week's standings (week 36) in the locker room on Wednesday or Thursday. Good luck today, gents! 1. StarFicus 2380.98 2. FatBuddha 2281.86 3. Mossy 2159.95 <-- top scorer w/ 169.47, consolidating his position and making the big push for #2 4. Trox 2094.53 5. apt820 2038.09 (+1) <-- slow and steady 6. pfuller 2025.57 (+1) <-- i'm gunning for ya! 7. worldcup2002 2017.12 (+1) <-- movin' on up! 8. corpse 1998.08 (-3) <-- my interview must have distracted him 9. jasonbondshow 1920.48 10. elsoltano 1785.03 11. Drood 1585.74 12. And I now have goals from Clement and Zola! Plus a clean sheet for Freidel. Things are coming up roses ...

posted by worldcup2002 at 02:07 PM on April 21, 2003

I had a good day today too... And tomorrow i have Smith and Kewell playing... I should be just fine...

posted by StarFucker at 02:15 PM on April 21, 2003

But you're sweating now, aren't you? Shaking in your boots? Knees knocking? Heart in your mouth? I thought Smith was sent off. Better watch that temper.

posted by worldcup2002 at 03:19 PM on April 21, 2003

Yeah, he was sent off Saturday, but i think he still gets to play tomorrow doesn't he?

posted by StarFucker at 03:27 PM on April 21, 2003

Smith was sent off. But unless I am much mistaken, his ban won't kick in until the next game.

posted by squealy at 03:30 PM on April 21, 2003

I say, Mr Fucker, have you not heard that Smith and Kewell have both been dropped?

posted by Fat Buddha at 03:35 PM on April 21, 2003

Now that is funny. Please tell me that he can't change his team.

posted by squealy at 03:38 PM on April 21, 2003

Yeah, Kewell broke his face when Smith sat on it.

posted by worldcup2002 at 03:40 PM on April 21, 2003

Dropped where you fantasizing chuff monkey? Here is the lineup for tomorrow... Team: Robinson, Mills, Radebe, Duberry, Harte, Kelly, Bakke, Matteo, Kewell, Viduka, Smith, Wilcox, Milner, Barmby, Kilgallon, Simon Johnson, McPhail, Martyn. Hat Trick for Kewell, 1 supplied by Smith... Fulham 0 Leeds 4

posted by StarFucker at 03:45 PM on April 21, 2003

Methinks Leeds will definitely win if they're allowed to field nineteen players.

posted by squealy at 04:25 PM on April 21, 2003

Would you put money on it though?

posted by Fat Buddha at 07:01 PM on April 21, 2003

As Keegan would say: "The tide is very much in their court now." Hahahahaha. (That was a funny link you put in my EPL report thread, squealy.)

posted by worldcup2002 at 07:28 PM on April 21, 2003

Money on the 4-0 result? Or on the fact that Smith and Kewell are playing?

posted by StarFucker at 08:12 PM on April 21, 2003

My lead has extended to 121 points. And thats before today's game! Who will be gracious enough to hand me the trophy?

posted by StarFucker at 08:40 AM on April 22, 2003

Appropriate?

posted by BigCalm at 09:11 AM on April 22, 2003

I'm in first of the MLS league. For one week only, I can look down on the fooker and the tits (and everyone else) and fart in their general direction.

posted by Ufez Jones at 10:12 AM on April 22, 2003

Yes, I don't know how well i will do in this MLS thing... I am not a big fan of the set up...but, i'll probably win it anyway... HA! And Big Calm, that is ALMOST appropriate... But i am looking for something made out of gold or silver...

posted by StarFucker at 10:22 AM on April 22, 2003

If you must insist on having a trophy, how about this one. I'll get it for you if you agree to stump up the cash for another trophy for whoever wins next year, or, alternatively, post it on to the winner of next year. If I pay for it though, I get to choose the words to engrave...

posted by BigCalm at 10:55 AM on April 22, 2003

Heh heh...i'm not insisting on a trophy...just talkin' shit. We only have a few weeks left so i want to get it all out. Buddha thinks he has a chance...i have to bring him back to reality.

What was that comment StarFucker made about preferring the humility shown by European footballers (showing respect for their opponents etc) to the arrogance of American sportsmen?

So, just one assist from Kewell then. Put that trophy presentation ceremony on hold. :-P New league table please someone.

posted by squealy at 03:11 AM on April 23, 2003

My lead has again improved... I am now 141 points in front of Buddha... Man, i was almost worried!

posted by StarFucker at 09:44 AM on April 23, 2003

I'm in first of the MLS league. Sorry Ufez, I stole the lead thanks to the vagaries of the MLS statisticians:

PLEASE NOTE: Per Major League Soccer, the following statistical changes have been made after thorough review of the one (1) MLS game over the weekend. Further statistical verification may be found at http://www.mlsnet.com/statistics/tmstats.html. Jeff Agoos (KC @ SJ) - NO ASSIST AWARDED
My one week reign at the top shall be celebrated this weekend by making a drunken ass of myself at a friend's wedding. :-)
