Poland vs Mexico!! In an international friendly, Mexico will "host" Poland, April 27th at, you guessed it...Soldier Field in Chicago! With huge populations of both Mexicans and Poles, everyone is already saying its going to be one of the biggest soccer matches in the US. It will sell out for sure. And I'm gonna be there! I just hope there isn't a riot!

SportsFilter is unavailable... What is the deal with Sportsfilter being down at all various times of the day? And in the past couple of days, its been unavailable more than it is available. I just get a blank page saying the site is not accepting something or other...its really annoying.

Obama is a soccer fan. West Ham invite Obama to watch a game at Upton Park. Apparently, he watched a Hammers game in 2003 while visiting his half-sister in London (article doesn't say if it was live, home, away or on the telly). Obama's older daughter plays on a soccer team. Change we can believe in.

Jewell in the rough. Former Wigan manager Paul Jewell is crowned the new manager at EPL bottom club Derby. His former assistant and recently-ousted replacement at Wigan, Chris Hutching, is expected to join him in leading the Rams. In other bottom-club manager moves, Birmingham has surprisingly secured Scotland manager Alex McLeish (who'll be earning four times what he did with Scotland). Meanwhile, Birmingham caretaker manager Eric Black has left to join former Blues boss Steve Bruce at Wigan. Whew.

Chelsea is a Mickey Mouse company. Chelsea ties up with Disney in a youth football partnership, as official pro soccer club for Disney's Wide World of Sports and presenting sponsor of the Disney Soccer Showcase Series. Perhaps ESPN will take soccer seriously now: "Further talks are planned to see how Chelsea can work with the various entertainment and media brands within Disney."

Newsvine World Cup 2006 Pick'em Game? Because one fantasy competition does not seem to be enough to suit us, how about this NewsVine team-oriented game in addition to the player-based fantasy league we set up last week? It's free and I create a SpoFi group, just use 692935 for the key.

EPL Fantasy Premier League Week 35 and 36 Update. Those that noticed a week update was missing were pretty quiet about it. Those that didn't notice have probably abandoned the pool long ago. Those that don't care will be happy to note that the EPL season is 38 games long and this is one of the last few updates.
