Maybe its me but I think its strange that of the three new ManU midfielders, Anderson and Nani have been assigned a price of 8.0 while Hargreaves, a proven veteran albeit a central player and not a winger like the other two, is at 6.5. Which reminds me, out of last year's regular rotation of Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Fletcher, Park and Richardson, who is losing playing time to the new boys? I've read that Keane wants to bring Richardson to Sunderland but what about the rest? Giggs and Scholes getting pushed aside by younger players, Fletcher showing he never will live up to SAF's expectations?
Yukon and I were talking about this, as the same thing happened last year: there were a bunch of new Premiership players who came in with a high cost and never dropped because no one sold them. Because no one bought them. I already sold Nani for some other new dude. I'm sure I'll get screwed.
Any of you gurus care to make predictions about who will be the most improved or have the biggest drop in the standings? The 3 relegation squads come next summer? The best of the newly promoted? Will Lampard regain his form of 05-06, or will Ladyboy run away with the points total again? Is Arsenal going to fall apart now that Henry is gone for good, or did they learn enough while he was injured to take a step away from being the smallest of the big four? I, for one, have not even a clue about any of the answers to my questions....so if any spofites would be so inclined.... Needless to say, I'm in; Phatcat FC, back in black (and orange)
I'll be vastly improved this year, since I actually (kind of) know what I'm doing from Week One, which will be a refreshing change from last season. Oh, you meant real teams, didn't you? Of course you did! Heh heh heh.
T_B_H, you're messing with my sly attempt to extricate information to aid us less informed footie fans. The first few weeks of the season are key to building a solid squad replete with underpriced performers and avoiding the over priced busts.
garf, in the future, let's get this stuff straight before posting. I would have happily shared in your ill-gotten knowledge, if I'd only known.
done and done. I'll call before I post.
I'm back and I am in.
Voronin scored a pair in his debut last night against Werder Bremen and Riise had a cannonshot for the third goal, so I have to think the Reds will challenge for a top two spot this season, while Gunners haven't made enough positive changes to say the same. Though the transfer window is still open and anyone can get injured. Also, I wonder if the collection of egos at Stamford Bridge will be the undoing of Mourinho. Then again, my track record is fair from terrific.
Thanks Mr.bill. So it is ManU and the 'Pool fighting for the top spot? I can see that. It is tough to pick Liverpool strikers with the rotation Benitez seems to prefer, but alot of people have picked Torres. And what about ladyboy's countryman Nani? Will he be starting in the midfield, or is he still considered a prospect?
Top 5 2007/2008 1. MU Rowdies 2. Chelski 3. Liverpoo 4. Spuds 5. The Arse You heard it here first.
Wait, you mean there will be no St. Totteringham's day next year?
Top 5 2007/2008 1. Chelski 2. Anu-field 3. Little Red Debbils 4. Franceso-hams 5. Bolt-ons or Red Wigs Gubbers will struggle to qualify for EUFA Cup spot and Wenger will leave next June.
Is anyone interested in also having a Yahoo League just to see how the other half lives? I'm more interested in it to see how the interface and scoring work. I have 0 interest in replacing gpsm as King of Excel.
Did you just offer to commish? I think you did. You did, didn't you? 'Cause that's what it sounded like.
Howdy. Hope you're all enjoying your summer (winter for owlhouse). I'm in as TX Kickin' Devils.
What, no Kickin' Chicks team name or update? Or is the season over, and I'm just an idiot?
