Seems an extremely desperate attempt to gather votes. His play on the court should have garnered him enough attention (given that it is All Star worthy) that he shouldn't have to resort to this type of solicitation. But, it was a rather funny approach.

With holden. If I had a vote, I'd go with Bosh, assuming he doesn't conflict with KG. And that's not just homerism; Garnett has been amazing this year.

Cute little idea, but it speaks to the reason I don't vote in any All-Star balloting. It's all a popularity contest and anyone, like Bosh in this instance, can get huge impact on the vote by doing a plug like this when it would be nice if great play on the court, period, would determine who gets the nods. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing it completely, because anything done to drum up interest in the sport is good, and if this is what fans want, then more power to Bosh and those who follow.

I get to see him - and he was voted a starter last year, so it stands to reason that playing in the tundra didn't hurt his marketability too much (nor Vince, either for the record).

However, you can't pick him over Garnett. That's ludicrous - and I love me some Bosh. He's been a little busted up, and has lower rebounding, scoring and FG% than last year.

I hope he makes it coming off the bench. That seems fair.

He deserves a vote just for his creativity alone, nevermind his awesome play. I was not going to vote for the NBA All-Stars this year, but now I will go and vote just because I want to cast one for Mr. Bosh. The NBA needs more guys like Chris Bosh.

All-Star Games have always been, especially the fan voting parts, popularity contests. Only reason Yao Ming gets as many votes as he does is because half of China is voting for it. So things like this, clever little things that he obviously had fun making, are more than welcome.

Save the debates for who's numbers are better and who's contributed more for the end of the season when the games actually matter.

Im not sure that Bosh could do anything to better his chances of making the team. His play speaks for itself this year, and I feel the video was made as more of a joke rather than a serious attempt to get votes. I don't feel the video would skew the results enough to truly make a difference, especially since he insulted many voters by his butchered cowboy accent. Anyway, good luck to him.

If I were a southerner, I would be insulted by a guy trying to be some cowboy. I realize he's from Texas, yes, but at times his tone seems more insulting than comedic for some audiences. I am just pointing out that he could have lost some potential votes thru the whole accent thing. It was inconsistent and at times rude. (Like the whole Bubba thing with the teeth missing.) Your opinion may differ greatly from someone elses. However people take it, I find the skit quite funny- but it may not make such a huge difference in terms of making the team.

Considering that the All-Star game is mainly aimed towards the fans, what's the problem with this? I think that what Chris Bosh has done with this video was pretty ingenius but considering that Kevin Garnett and Lebron James will most likely be voted ahead of him, I'm not sure that this will help. Bosh was a starter last year since KG was still playing for Minnesota but as we all know by now, KG is a beast in the east.

Chris Bosh has shown that there are pro athletes out there that still care enough about things like an All-Star game that they'll go out of their way to garner votes from the fans by speaking to the fans themselves. The NBA should truly look at this as a good thing and the fans should pay a little more attention to a great player in Bosh that many people just don't get a chance to see play.

If you asked Bosh, he wouldn't think he should be there ahead of LeBron or KG either (particularly since Garnett has eaten him alive in every matchup this season). This video was just another step in the process of a young, shy kid gradually emerging from his shell (as 23-year-olds do) and coming to terms with his celebrity and stardom in the self-deprecating fashion that endeared fans to him in the first place.

Agreed that this was cute, and if it sways a few people, whoopee, more to the good.

I understand the whole incentive-clause money thing, but really, I would never stand in the way of anyone choosing to be a goofball in public for any reason.
