Sports Bio

I'm a NW native, University of Oregon Graduate!!! I just got married, which means now I have a job, and no time for daytime spofi checks. I try to run 35-40 miles a week, and I am a hopeless competitor. I try to run two marathons a year, and my PR is a 3:32; Boston Qualifying is my current goal, and if the stars align I may do it in May..
Ducks, Blazers, and Seahawks.
The Blazers ARE competing for a playoff spot... mark my words! (This comment has been here for three years... but I still mean it!)

Green Light... RED LIGHT! haha go back to the beginning. While crew chief Roy McCauley argued the call - and the ensuing penalty that left Busch as the last car on the lead lap - NASCAR officials said the caution and the light closing pit road happened 2 seconds before the driver headed past the commitment line for a stop.

Kansas Wins National Title... ....although to read the article you would think that Memphis had it gift wrapped.

for the record: I didn't say the game itself was boring, I said the hype around the game was less than it could have been, and I had failed to be interested in the winner. I even added that the end of the game added some excitement.

Yawn... it was an exciting couple of minutes at the end, but one of the least memorable finals I can remember as far as hype/ pre-game buzz goes. I just really didn't care when it came right down to it.

Bengal's Wide Receiver Arrested Once again the thug rep. is jumping out at us. Maybe the 3 strikes and you're out rule seriously needs to be instated in the NFL... These guys need to realize they are not above the law... And I thought the NBA was getting bad for a while... They are choir boys compared to the NFL lately... As they say, one bad apple...

I must say rcade, with all due respect, the thread seems a little unnecessary without any sort of political comments or "comments about the president;" Seeing as how the boos were made with vigor prior to the throw, it seems unlikely that they were made in relation to the "mechanics" of the throw itself. I suppose it is possible that he was booed because he's an acknowledged ranger fan/ former ranger owner, but... Maybe the real topic has something to do with the fact that baseball season ticket buyers are increasingly older every season*, and thus increasingly likely conservative**, yet they are still booing the republican president... In the nations capital. If that is too political the thread seems maybe too politically charged. *I searched for a cite for this for all of about 27 seconds before I lost interest. **I didn't even try... I'll happily recant if provided with evidence.

"The chief executive officer of Tribune Company says he won't hesitate to sell the naming rights to Wrigley Field -- even if baseball purists don't like the idea. Zell has a suggestion for the makers of DoubleMint and Juicy Fruit.

'Perhaps the Wrigley Company will decide after getting it for free for so long that's time to pay for it,' he said."

Everyone on Spofi loves "futbol" so much, and those guys really know how to take sponsorship seriously. I'm sure the discussion to follow will include near unanimous approval.

Arsenal's Eduardo Da Silva injured in outrageous tackle, possibly ending his career. A truly horrific injury, broken pieces of bone were sticking out of his sock as he was stretchered of the field. This is the sort of injury that you never truly recover from (See Alex Smith). I hope the FA bans Martin Taylor for life.

Lots of lifetime/long-term ban talk already; I think that is premature. This was not a Kermit Washington type obvious anger fueled deal. There needs to be some sort of official proceedings with the specific intent of determining Taylor's intent, whether by the FA, or by the british judicial system. It does not seem unlikely to me that this is possibly as HATER mentioned above a case of "mis-timing." I am a runner, and not a team sports guy, but I have watched enough team sports at the pro and amateur level to know that when two people are moving and fighting as fast and hard as they can, sometimes shit happens. Regardless, that is awful.

Maybe Mavs starting 5: Jason Kidd Jason Terry Josh Howard Dirk Nowitzki Erick Dampier And, they've still got Juwana man and Eddie Jones coming off the bench, with the near guarantee of Stackhouse coming back... This is a great team.
