"Juuuuust a bit outside." The worst ceremonial first pitch in baseball history.

Comments

Things to look for: - The umpire making the "you're outta the game!" motion after he gets hit by the pitch. - The look on Eric Davis' face after the throw (near the end of the clip). - The lack of cheering/booing from the crowd. Stunned silence is the only thing that can happen after watching that.

Not a politician, but Carl Lewis was awful, almost as bad as his singing career. Michael Watrip was even worse than Carl, at a Marlins game, his pitch went in to the Braves dugout, ending up near Chipper Jones, sitting on the bench.

Patrice Bergeron, Tommy Lasorda and Bill Murray come to mind as well.

I think that was the gyro pitch.

I don't know whats worse, the pitch or the fact that some batters out there would swing at it.

tommytrump: I saw that TSN Top10 list tonight as well, just after I posted this.

I liked the part where after he 'threw' it, he's over there loosening up the shoulder like he wasn't properly warmed up. Of course that's why the 'throw' ended up where it did.

I think that was the gyro pitch. Too funny!

the fact that some batters out there would swing at it. I think if you look closely, Adam Dunn, from the on-deck circle, did.

Oh, sure, easy to pick on the guy missing home plate by 20 feet. But how do we know the problem wasn't Davis' pitch selection?

As a non-baseball person can I just say that Eric Davis (the catcher dude?) has a very nice coat. /irrelevant remark

In addition he hit the sportswriter, the public address announcer, the bull mascot twice...

WOW!!!!!

Goddamn, he gets a free steak!

Well, he f**ks like he pitches. Sorta all over the place.

Grum, I did see the TSN top ten list too, that's where the I got the Bergeron and Lasorda pitches from. However, for some twisted reason the Carl Lewis and Waltrip pitches are on 'stickies' in my memory bank, I guess they're just so bad I can't erase the memory of them.

Crash Davis told him to hit the ump.

"Couldn't hit water if he feel out of a fucking boat."

The guy was apparently throwing pretty well when warming up with Steve Sax and Chuck Knobloch prior to the game.

"Crash Davis told him to hit the ump." I wasn't even there, man.

That was terrible.

Time to bring back Mayor Jerry Springer.

"Crash Davis told him to hit the ump." That's how people get hurt: He named names. From a great Seinfeld episode

Poor guy.

The look on Davis' face afterward is priceless.

I heard on ESPN, that the Cubs have invited him for a try=out.

Actually Bozeman, I'm pretty sure it was the Nationals. He'll be their #2 starter.

"Couldn't hit water if he feel out of a fucking boat." "Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo."
