"We were considering sending an email to Terrell Owens suggesting if he wasn't handling enough balls, he could try his own in the shower. But given the number of passes he drops over the middle, we're not sure he has any."

You almost made me ruin my moniter with that one lol.
But you better be careful.....I hear Pac-Man has nothing to do for a few weeks and we all know how sensitive TO can be.

Report: Brady's Injury Torn ACL Tom Brady's injury is a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports. Brady was knocked out in the first quarter of Sunday's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs after a hit by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard.

posted by rcade at 08:44 PM on September 08

The thing that gets me about this is that Randy Moss came out and said that the hit was a cheap shot and a dirty play. Now I might not a ref but from what I seen the o-lineman pushed the blitzing safty to the groung because he was gonna beat him with speed, which is what most o-lineman are taught to do,it just happened that when the safty hit the ground his momentum carried him into Brady's lower leg(not his knee)and Brady got twisted up.

While I do not like the Pats it is a shame to see such a good player put on the shelf with such a devastating injury, but I think it reminds us all that no matter how good you are in sports that luck (both good and bad)does play a role.

Seems we have lost commen sense as well.

Let's Play the Feud! On Sunday night's broadcast, Joe Morgan suggested (once again) Ernie Banks' career statistics were inflated by the "basket" in Wrigley's outfield. This being Joe Morgan, the basket was installed in Banks' final year with the Cubs and accounted for, at most, 6 of 512 career home runs. This being Joe Morgan, Cubs fans will have to get in line behind a number of computers before they hear an apology.

I'm really starting to think that Joe does this kind of stuff just to keep his name out there because theres no way he can compare to Mr. Cub in all around play or in just being humble. I dont remember him complaining when he was part of "The Big Red Machine" and its not Banks or Sandbergs fault that he isnt even remembered as the second or third best player on his team. Both Banks and Sandberg carried that franchise and Joe had the benifit of playing with some of the best players around. That being said I'm need to go cut my hands off now for defending Cubs players while being a Sox fan.

He has to be my all time favorite comic and when i read the news i couldnt understand how it was possible he was gone. I can say that i dont remember a show I have seen where you didnt get your moneys worth. I know this a sports forum but to limit his work to just that would be a crime. He was truly a comic genius and will be deeply missed. Tnip touched on it earlier, I'm sure he is with Pesci.....Because remember....Pesci gets resaults. :)

Pitcher really don't like an ump? Have your catcher duck and hit him in the face! On a high fastball, high school catcher ducks as the ball hits ump right on the mask (youtube link).

To me this just sounds like a pitcher and catcher that were tired of a small strike zone trying to get even. Not saying it was right but in the end its nothing compared to the pithcer who beaned the kid in the on deck circle because he thought the kid was tryin to steal signs.

Anyone else think that the owners might be right wanting a rookie salary cap?

Sacks, Lies and Videotape. Mark Bowden explains why he thinks that cheating and sports always have — and always will — go hand in hand. Bowden says cheating in sports at all levels is here to stay — so get over it. Plus "Tilting the Level Playing Field" from NPR.org

Anyone remember the Raiders old motto "If you aint cheatin you aint tryin"? While I dont think this goes for all of sports I do think that if a way to better your game is out there that isnt within the rules some people will use it.Not saying its right but it does and will continue to happen as long as there is a first place and a last place.

NFL Owners Vote Unanimously to End Collective Bargaining Agreement ESPN's John Clayton reports, "The NFL officially notified its players union on Tuesday that it will opt out of the current collective bargaining agreement, which could lead to a season without a salary cap in 2010 and a possible lockout in 2011." CBS Sports NFL reporter Clark Judge says the move was motivated by owners wanting to lower the amount of revenue devoted to players, pay less to rookies, and recoup bonuses paid to contract-breaking players.

posted by BornIcon at 08:56 AM on May 20

I cant see how the owners would want to let the players get a taste of a no cap season. Every agent must be drooling like a madman at the thought of this. If there's no new CBA in place before 2010 you can be sure there will be a lockout in 2011. I just hope this doesnt turn the NFL into what the NHL was a few years ago.

If you can't beat 'em, cheat 'em. Seven time champion Robert Horry gives a do whatever it takes to win lesson to the Hornets, and extends his post-season record of cheap shots in the process.

posted by irunfromclones at 12:18 PM on May 16

I dont know if I would say that the screen was "clean" but it was legal.Horry is to smart of a player to have this happen by accident. When this is all said and done this play may be what does the Spurs in, because if the Hornets decide to play a more physical game now they have the younger legs and i'm not sure if the Spurs can continue to play this many games at this tempo. Dont get me wrong, the Spurs are still the favorite to alot of people but you have to wonder what toll this seris has taken.

As a long time White Sox fan I knew this was coming after the comments he made a few days ago. He has never been one to hold his tounge and it has hurt him more times than it has helped. That being said i still think that he is one of the best hitters that I have ever seen and when Ted Williams says that you have one of the purest swings he has seen that means something. To bad he angered so many of the Chicago writers that will one day help determine his Hall of Fame future.

Football ref crew mistake may cost $4.5 million Did the Big Ten make a $4.5 million mistake by allowing an officiating crew that was facing a suspension this weekend to work last Saturday's Illinois-Ohio State game?

posted by lil'red at 03:31 PM on November 15

It's been a long time since I've been able to say this ,but it's time for Ohio State to figure out that they are not the only team with talent. The Big Ten has finally become what people thought it was. And to gobucks,it's not like Ohio State got beat by Eastern Illinois, the Illini have won a few this year.

The dumbest football fines ever! Some of these are pretty funny. While others make you wonder, just how much time does the league actually have on it's hands?

Some good memories here. I do remember that game jojo, funniest part of that whole thing was one of the announcers asked the other "Can you tell if his head is still in there" to which he answered "I can't tell, I dont see it but if it is he (Turley) needs to try out for the discus event."
