Jeff George gone after only a week and most surprising the Lions finally dump Rogers. Finally! The man could break a collarbone reaching for his morning toast! Picking up his newspaper! Sneezing!

I wonder why the Lions didn't try to trade Rogers to the Pats... would've made sense if they could get another draft pick. I wonder why Oakland even signed George.... was it like a stunt to obtain publicity? Because it sure as hell worked. By the way- was anyone as suprised as I was to see D. Watts released?

Comment icon posted by Kendall at 9:59 PM CDT on September 2

Kendall, you kidding? Why would the Pats give up anything for a player with 1.3 touchdowns and 150 yards PER SEASON. Pat's get better production than that out of Mike Vrabel.

Comment icon posted by endorfin at 11:27 PM CDT on September 2

The Lions should have traded him to anyone they could fool into taking him. Also, considering their QB situation maybe they ought to be the ones trying to sign George. they could do worse and have before.

I can't believe the raiders helped the patriots by giving them a guy with speed like doug gabriel.I would never help a team that has recently won 3 superbowls, especially when that first one was as a result of a screwing by the refs that cost you your shot.they must have either settled with porter,or have alot of faith in ron curry.either way I would not assist the pats for anything, especially a draft pick.charles rogers is the highest pick I've seen cut since ryan leaf.maybe if he had a better work ethic,he could have overcome his injuries and been what he was supposed to be.oh well.

Even though I'm glad that they cut Rogers, I still feel bad for him. I think that he just tuned out football over the last few years because of the freak injuries and having to sit on the sidelines. Maybe it was medicinal marijuana? I think that he will get picked up somewhere and come back to haunt the Lions.

endorfin's comment is so much funnier because it is true, Vrabel has to be good for 3 TD's a season

I'm not sure the Lions could have received much for Rogers. Other teams know that if the guy just farts he'll break his collarbone.

Maybe the guy will hook up with another team and blow out the Lions. It certainly wouldn't take much.

a result of a screwing by the refs that cost you your shot.

You mean one of the best calls in one of the greatest games played. Brady's arm was clearly not going forward...them grapes are still sour, eh?

Jeff George will be resigned in one week after the first game. This is a cost cutting move by the Raiders and was fully expected!

Comment icon posted by phenyx2 at 9:04 AM CDT on September 3

Rogers will be at the Flint Mobile Wash once he decides to work a full day.

Comment icon posted by JRWittig at 9:27 AM CDT on September 3

marsI, yes, the refs did screw up on that play, but not because of the tuck rule. The raiders also performed an illegal head slap on that play that never got called. Since it occured before the "fumble" I'm pretty sure the raiders wouldn't have gotten the ball even if the play had been called "correctly."

who gives a crap about a stupid play from a stupid game from a million years ago??? get a life!!! how bout them 85 bears!!!

You seem to specialize in telling people to get a life, frankiem.

Doug Gabriel`s fantasy value just went way up.He went from a team where he was the number 3 or 4 receiver, to a team where he will have an immediate impact. He will turn out to be one of Brady`s top targets. Now they can go ahead and dump Branch!!!

Comment icon posted by tommyboy at 11:02 AM CDT on September 3

Oh yeah, about bad calls.Im still trying to get over the Raiders loss to the Steelers.Nothing immaculate about Franco`s catch. He trapped the damn ball. The Raiders got jobbed!!!

huh?

Rogers, as I remember, was supposed to be the sure fire Pro-Bowler from his class. Shows how good the experts are.

Also, I would note that most of the guys on that list were chronic injury guys. Doesn't look good for Chris Perry.

jobbed?

Too bad the Lions couldn't have dumped Matt Millen. It would fit the title of the article because he is big-name and God is he offensive!

The experts readily admit that they can't predict injuries.

rkyrilmitch_76 - maybe I exagerated a little though - over the last 3 years Vrabel's has 6TDs on 8 total yards. Not bad- a TD for every 1.3 yards.

Well that statement doesn't contradict itself at all.

As for Rogers, I try to look on the bright side. He is yet another blown draft choice by Matt Millen. So maybe if William Ford goes and gets wasted he'll see that Millen is one of the most incompetent GM's in sports (since he obviously can't see this when he's sober).

who cares....lee suggs will be texans #1 rb and rush for 1500 yds and 20 td.

book it

Comment icon posted by brettd03 at 2:12 PM CDT on September 3

Yerfatma... a new prediction for your list?...

Comment icon posted by Kendall at 2:22 PM CDT on September 3

I think so, on the basis of the 20 TDs alone. And the "book it" really demands attention.

Comment icon posted by yerfatma at 2:45 PM CDT on September 3

Ron Dayne is the one that breaks my heart. Always thought he was better than the experts gave him credit for, even in the draft, but he`s never quite been what I expected. Still, if I was running a team and needed another RB, I`d give him a shot. Are you listening, Miami?

Comment icon posted by gradioc at 4:11 PM CDT on September 3

especially when that first one was as a result of a screwing by the refs that cost you your shot

The Patriots got screwed in 1976 against the Raiders in a playoff game they had won. Worst call ever.

Comment icon posted by GOD at 6:03 PM CDT on September 3

Indeed they did. Them, as they say, are the breaks...

GREAT line! Man, I'm still laughing and am I the only one who got it?

FIGHT ON!!

Commander, in your dreams.

Actually I'm not a big fan of either team (Michigan! M go Blue!), but I still think UCLA is going to surprise a lot of people this year.

Or, maybe not. Oh, wait, were you talking about next year?
