Amongst many other possible injuries he could have incurred with that catch, I was pretty worried about him getting a concussion from his head hitting the wall after sliding over 2/3 of the warning track.

Sometimes you see a good catch that makes up for a bad route. Those are fun, but part of what makes this one so great is the read. In a split second, he was sprinting straight to the spot. Sheesh!

According to StatCast, 97.7% route efficiency, 82 feet covered in 4.6 seconds, only 38% chance of catching it, 4-star (out of 5) rating

The play came at a critical point in the game with Jays holding a small lead. Subsequent at bats in the inning showed that Boston likely would have put up some runs. As it occurred Boston managed to take advantage of a tired bullpen and get the win. The look on the pitcher's face was priceless.

What the hell gets a 5 given the numbers you quoted? Lower chance of catching it?
