The striped geriatric cat and I have been having much conversation about our picks this past week. I've been a bit angry with her for talking me into picking the Tiger Cats, but she rebuts this by reminding me that she also urged a pick of the Lions. So we were 50-50, but it got us absolutely nowhere. Still, the cat is forgiven, although she doesn't really care as long as she can find some sun or a warm spot to sleep in.
Now for the picks. The defenses will ultimately decide this one. I'm not saying that there won't be a lot of points scored, but a key stop at the right time will go a long way toward winning. Cat did remind me that cats do not usually attack anything they aren't ready to eat, but are much better at defending. A bomber is considered an offensive weapon, but history has proven that aerial bombardment does not effectively decide a conflict. That takes a solid defense, good ground troops, and effective strategies. It all comes down to the troops in the trenches. My pick for MVP will come from the defensive side of the ball.

Winnipeg puts their home field advantage to good use, shutting down the Tiger-Cats on the frozen tundra.
Out West, B.C. soaks up the applause in their spruced-up digs and then lays a first-half beatdown on the Eskimos, coasting the rest of the way into the Grey Cup.
B.C. also had 3 sacks to take the DWC bonus. However! Ricky Ray managed a whopping 4 more passing yards than Lulay, just barely stealing the passing yards Bonus.
Some nice churn in the second week, as tommytrump scores a nice five points to jump into the lead.
