Yao-ch!: Life in the NBA begins for Yao Ming. 11 minutes of playing time. 0 points. 2 rebounds. Pacers win! And it seems that The Quick is working out nicely (if you can judge a new offense by one game). Any other NBA reports?

I just wish we could take on a healthy Lakers team. The Lakers looked so bad last night, they really may end up 0-7 ! Tonight, a better test against the Kings.

Only this: if I have to listen to Brent Musberger call NBA games on ESPN this season, I'm going to go nuts. He's the worst - last night he kept interrupting his analyst on the Wizards-Raptors game and in general produced an un-ending string of nonsense punctuated by shouts of "Guess who? Kwame Brown!" whenever the kid did anything decent. Ugh. Oh, and the Wizards still have no inside game.

Oy vey. I saw the Lakers losing to the Blazers but lost interest. Samaki Walker was taking jump shots from the perimeter, and I did that thing dogs do when they cock their head to one side and act confused.

thescoop: At Duke, we called Brent 'The Brent' because he always referred to Cameron Indoor Stadium as 'The Cameron.' He's a first class idiot.

When did Brent make his return? He was outed by ABC (is that right?) and then spent time in radio purgatory. Now he's covering basketball for ESPN. How did that come about? Anyone know his path since he was excommunicated from Network heaven? You have to admit, he has some perseverance. And Bulls win as well. Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune believes that they can contend for the playoffs. Compared to the starting five of other Eastern Conference teams (outside of the Nets), the Bulls don't look to bad.

What's worse is that ABC freakin owns ESPN, so they should know not to hire The Brent (thanks tieguy, that's perfect). Is the shortage of capable broadcasters that dire?

I don't follow basketball all that much so I'm quite please The Brent is doing games there. Hopefully it'll take away from his time on other sports so I no longer have to suffer through his crazy calls on the dullest of plays. Does anyone get more excited about a 1st quarter four yard run?

That's what I'm talking about. /mj hating

He was outed by ABC I believe you mean ousted. Marv's the one what dresses funny.

Oops, didn't mean to imply that Brent was exposed.

Bill Walton is great!!

Bill Walton's current claim to fame outside of the broadcast booth (a place which he should be banned from - thanks ESPN) is looking like a complete idiot plugging tortilla chips along with his old has been cronies. That's solid.
