One NFL team owner ha come out to lecture the Patriots about the importance of drafting for character. Allow me to present Mike Brown, Bengals owner.

It's the little victories we cling to, fatty.

How a writer winds up with player autographs.

"To me, it's an absolute joke." Cinco Ocho, PhD on the possibility of Yasiel Puig making the All-Star Game.

I'd hate to see the integrity of the ASG stained with pure populism. Now off to vote 35 times for some agéd shlub!

Merit-based all-stars would just fuck everything up. Even with a small sample size, I think Puig merits consideration, if not election.

If Nick Markakis can possibly start the All Star game I don't see why Puig shouldn't make it. It doesn't have a merit based selection process and the requirement that every team have an All Star is just silly. Especially when Bud Selig decided that the joke of a game should have an impact on the actual season.

I just want to point out that Miguel Cabrera has NEVER been elected to an all-star game in his career. (The only game he started (2010), he was 2nd in voting at his position but Morneau couldn't start due to injury.)

A couple of sabermetric types call it the "Some-Stars Game", because of the odd voting results and the need for bad teams to send at least one player.
