Cry, Theo, cry.: Theo Fleury continues to makes headlines, but not for scoring goals. As a fellow short guy, I wish Theo would stop perpetuating the myth that we're all self-centered punks with a persecution complex and a chip on our shoulders. Does he really think that threatening to retire is going to make the refs give him some leeway on the ice?

He does get singled out by the refs - did you see that call last night? Completely bogus!

And complaining about the refereeing will get you even more bogus calls.

If he could've handled his shit last year, no one would've figured him to be a crackhead, or whatever it is that he sticks himself with. He could've went down as a scoring pest. Now he is just going down. Lets hope the present lttleboy wonder of the Flames doesn't follow the same path.

Go ahead, retire. A threat implies that someone is scared of it becoming true. I don't think anyone would give a shit if he retired, except for maybe his teammates, but they are most likely sick of his shit by now as well.

You know, I'd love to complain that Theo gets singled out or picked on by refs, but I can't side with him. Theo has built his own reputation and deserves the extra attention he gets. If he had toned down his act a year or two ago he may have saved himself and his team a lot of trouble. Both the call on Fleury and the call on Barnaby from that game were far too touchy by most standards, but both of those players have a reputation that makes it easier for refs to whistle them. At least I can defend Barnaby because he's acting as a pest as he is supposed to, but the Rangers need Fleury to score, not sit. Having him off the ice for the last five minutes of a close game against a hated rival in the middle of a playoff race made me even more sick of his shit.

Agree with 86. Untill the arrivals of Tim Connolly and Erik Cole Theo was my favorite player. Growing up I was always the short guy on my team, so he and John Cullen were the natural choices. Lucky for me, I've grown up and now play at 5'10 180 (well, I would play at this if I found a good league in silly valley anyway). Theo needs to do the same. Yes, he has a rep that is singling him out. But he earned it. And he should know better than to whine about it, because that only makes it worse.
