Calgary keeps on truckin' at home, while B.C. gets a much-needed statement win. Hamilton comes back to beat Edmonton, and Toronto gets flat-out embarrassed by Montreal.

Margin of Error18 to 3311 to 205 to 96 to 10

Despite an Esks loss, Spitztengle hits two margins to maintain first place, but rahilsuleman nails the Hamilton spread to join him. Good showings across the board mean that the top 10 players are separated by a slim five point margin.

WEEK 7

Calgary @ Edmonton (Thursday, August 13) Calgary has been rolling, but Edmonton's two-game losing streak has featured a lot of tough luck. Give the Stamps a very slight edge at Commonwealth.

B.C. @ Toronto (Friday, August 14) Is this even a toss-up? B.C.'s defence has been showing signs of life, and Toronto hasn't scored since Week 5.

Montreal @ Winnipeg (Saturday, August 15) Home cooking might help Winnipeg make a stand against the Alouettes. Montreal's still the favourite, but this might be closer than we think.

Hamilton @ Saskatchewan (Saturday, August 16) The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are the second-best team in the league, behind only Montreal. Will that stand up at Taylor Field? I have absolutely no idea.

Good luck!

I once read an interview with Alberta born chanteuse kd lang. Edmonton by 11. She was asked about being a vegetarian. BC by 16. And whether it had anything to do with being opposed to animal cruelty. Montreal by 7. She replied that she wasn't a vegetarian because she loved animals. Saskatchewan by 12. It was because she hated plants.

Yes, I remember the drubbing at the hands of the Lions at Commonwealth those few weeks ago, but I honestly think that the mystique of the grass field is coming back into play. The Double E have played well, and are solid on all three aspects of the game. Of course, Calgary is always gonna be dangerous, and it's gonna be an epic battle of Alberta. However, I think that the Labour Day series is gonna split this year, so for the Esks to keep the edge they're gonna need to take this one from 'em. A single point is all it takes to win and cover, but there's a chance this could get blown wide open. Tough pick really. I'll stick with the homefield advantage in this one (due in no small way to my own presence). Edmonton by a late (converted) touchdown.

Yeah, at some point the Argos are gonna have to start giving other teams at least some competition, and this week they'll surely be motivated to do so. And I keep thinkin' that the Lions are destined to fall in the west, but it would be wrong for me to think that there's an upset brewing this week. The Argos are at home, so I'll say that they make it interesting for a change (and actually put some points on the board). BC comes from behind in this one to win by 3.

It'd be good for Montreal to have a dose of competition too. Won big last week, so this week can be a cruiser--win but not cover. Montreal by 4.

Arrrrggghhhh!?!? How the Riders are favoured in this game is beyond me. Think the pesky cats are gonna feed on some ground squirrels on the prairies this weekend. They've got something going for themselves ... and it ain't Taylor Field any more ... the Esks stole won there a couple weeks back, so I think the Tabbies just might be able to do the same. If there's an upset this week, this'll be it. Hamilton by 12.

Weedy, you picked both sides in the British Columbia v Toronto game, and missed the Calgary v Edmonton game. I wish I'd noticed earlier, I would have sent you an email.

WOW! What a game in Edmonton! One for the ages ... a CLASSIC CFL shootout!

Edmonton by a late (converted) touchdown.

Notice how I didn't actually say the score ;)

Seriously, this is how I saw this one playing out, I just didn't think we'd be playing from behind ... all square coming home. But eh ... I'll take the single in this one ... it could've gone either way!

Weedy, I thought I had your email. It appears I don't, so I sent a message to Gary and Rogers, hoping one of them have it, and would forward the message to you before game time. Good luck !

HOLY ENDINGS !! Farkin' Eskimos !!
