In what was the only meaningful game of the weekend, Toronto blew a big halftime lead and lost first place in the division in a game which seems like it should've been more entertaining than it was.

A big thanks to all of you who stuck with this through the season. True, I've lived through better CFL seasons, but hopefully next year we'll see the old kick return blocking rules brought back, "no yards" made a judgement call, some better quarterbacks, and another pick 'em pool humming through the summer. I'll be starting up the playoff pick 'em tomorrow. We'll be starting from scratch, so this is a great chance for the Costanza runners-up to redeem themselves. Keep an eye out for it!
A fifteen point spread over a total of 72 games (and 216 possible points) isn't that much. Pretty competitive pool.
Further meaningless statistics, Dr. J averaged 2.75 points a week (25.4% of all possible points). Spitz averaged 2 points a week (18.5%). This is based on the assumption that they both made picks every week. Not sure how many games/weeks individual people missed.

So, bein' a first-timer in the SpoFi confidence pool, would somebody mind sharing the true meaning and origins of the Costanza award? And what, if anything, should I expect as the holder of that title over the coming months?

I have em. I am rather behind. I will fire one up tonight. The Costanza award goes to people that end up losing the pool. Last place. But it has to come about honestly. You can't purposely tank. You can't not enter your picks. Dunno if you made picks every week (I know I missed at least two) but in a pool this small there's no point in quibbling. You earned the suckage. I can't remember who suggested it but it has popped up a few times in the last year (I think I have made at least 4 of them) and is oft talked about. Sort of part of the pool lexicon. Maybe I should do a Costanza-thon this weekend. Any tips on what I'd missed? All confidence pools are ideal for this since everyone has to enter their picks so there is no abandoning of teams. (I can think of world cup confidence, world cup of baseball, mlb postseason pick em) AND congrat DJE, good stuff this year.

If you want to do all the work gspm, I'd sift through the archives since I think there have been quite a few pools that may have been missed. Of course, I doubt you'd want to do that so I'd suggest making a new post asking who needs their rightfully earned Costanza. It would make finding "winners" easier.
