8 OTs fail to decide hockey final. When Tim Hooker scored the tying goal late in the third period of the Division I state high school championship game, little did the Orchard Lake St. Mary's forward realize he was setting the stage for the longest prep hockey game in Michigan history.

The sportsmanship demonstrated by that photo is great. Seeing two teams look as excited in the team photo as one team is cool. But I'm glad it didn't happen in the Buffalo/Dallas Stanley Cup, though. As an aside, one of those kids has a more full beard than I've ever been able to grow in my life.

I think our society has been over-caffinated...I blame Starbucks

The photo is fantastic. Also, I'm happy to hear that none of the adults (parents/coaches/athletic directors) are going to be suing anyone over this. When read the headline, I thought it was 8 FULL periods of overtime. That would have been both epic and insane to put those kids through.

Roids do that Rcade. Eat Mor Chikin!!!

Man, I would have LOVED to see that game! No mention of how the goalies did - probably ended up as one big black and blue mark!

probably ended up as one big black and blue mark! And smelly! P...U...!

probably ended up as one big black and blue mark! No kidding. Facing 59 shots is crazy. Saving 58 of them is simply insane.

Pfft. They look they could go at least another 2 periods. I don't see evidence of a single urine stain on anyone's pants. Great example of sportsmanship - and take note that this one will be remembered moreso than a simple and annual victory. Good for these guys.

Ah, a link to the Wretched Beagle. That makes me a bit homesick.

They should just keep playing. Eventually they'd at least get a world record out of it (assuming nobody scored). Play 'em until they drop.
