I was stunned when I first heard of this. This is one my favorite analysts. He really does know the game of baseball. I hope he gets better soon.

God, this is shocking! I mean it can happen to anyone, but Pete Gammons always speaks with authority. To me he is Mr. Baseball. Best wishes and get well soon!

This is a bummer, Gammons was one of the best things going for ESPN. I hope he recovers, my thoughts go to his family and friends.

Even though he's a Red Sox fan, the guy is one of my favorites because he truly loves the game of baseball. I always look forward to what he says or writes, and hope he makes a complete recovery.

Im a big Gammons fan too. He's been looking rather elderly in recent appearances. I wish more baseball guys had his passion and knowledge, but did ESPN just decide to hire all Red Sox fans?

Or are Red Sox fans just more obliged to be knowledgable about baseball? (Okay - run with that)

Peter Gammons has always been a stand out talent. His working with Jon Miller, also a favorite, is a perfect pairing. Serious and silly together. Maybe, while waiting for Peter's return, they will bring back Sam Ryan, she is lots prettier than Peter.

While I didn't always agree with what he said, and he had a habit of carpet-bombing the airwaves with trade rumours and then taking credit when ONE of them was correct, I did miss reading his columns when he got stuck behind the pay-wall at ESPN.com.

I hope he recovers and can complain about Yankees by October.

gammons understands baseball and the business end of it.to his credit he remained a true red sox fan. people do not understand the physic of a true red sox fan.they have critized gammon for it.pete you have eternal hope, you will rejoin trhe red sox nation and we will applaud your accomplishments. only the best

This just in: BullpenPro Recovering From Brain Aneurysm

Putting my professional view of Gammons aside for the moment, he does, sincerely, love the game of baseball and I wish him a speedy and full recovery.
