Carl Cook is not a typical Clipper season-ticket holder For one thing, he's homeless.

Is it really? I'm not getting that from my end.

I wasn't asked for a reg. either. Think maybe the People's Republic of Utah is blocking the Times? I heard about this on the radio today. The incident where he got hit is one of the most dispiriting stories I've heard in a little while. This part kind of disappointed me, though: At the Sports Arena, the Clippers often gave him tickets to their sparsely attended games. That changed when they moved to Staples Center before the 1999-2000 season and fan interest grew. Cook, undeterred, said he sold his most valuable possession, a $6,400 sailboat, to help pay for season tickets. Maybe if Frankie Muniz gets word of this, he can give Billy C a call and they can help him out.

The Clippers should give this guy a job. He dreams of schlepping towels, washing uniforms and hauling gear alongside Pete Serrano, the Clippers' longtime equipment manager. Or at least comp his season tickets...

"probably our most unique fan." Who the hell else is in the running?

Who the hell else is in the running? Bill Simmons.

"Think maybe the People's Republic of Utah is blocking the Times?" You know, anything's possible. On the other hand, I was at work when I posted that, and now that I'm home I can get there no problem, so maybe the IT staff at work was to blame. On the third hand (I know, too many hands), I am the IT staff at work, so I'm fairly certain it wasn't me. But yeah, now I can read the article, so yay me.

WOW... I cant believe that the guy didnt get a job by the Clippers.... he's obviously got a strong devotion to the team, and seems like a solid worker. Its realyl too bad to see people like him.

Its realyl too bad to see people like him. A part of me finds this life appealing. No doubt that the guy has his bar set low but he is doing what he wants. If game worn jerseys are your dress clothes and bicycle transportation gets you to the game -- it don't get no better than that. Good luck to Carl. I hope the Clippers reward his devotion.

i can't believe they won't give this guy some job. they honor their most moronic and annoying fans and give this guy the shaft (a little hyperbole there). you have your two, token, fanatic white guys doing a cheesy (that's a kind word to describe it) rap at halftime that they show on the jumbotron, but you can't let this guy run the mop over the restricted circle?

The Clips should give him a job or at least a new bike! He has invested in them for this long without giving up, the least they could do is let him assist the Equip. Mgr. He said he'd do it for free! How many people out there would work for free in his situation?

Before this year, the Clippers should have paid him to attend games.

Great story! Keep on doing what you do. F!!!what everyone else thinks.

Great story, thanks justgary. A great reminder that sports are a joy.
