Was just on my way to post this as well. All I have to say is "inevitable". Wait until the uniform change comes. I'm sure Ozzie will look great in that greenish/orangish/sort of redish mix that can only be called slevenish.

I didn't even get the 7:11 thing untill it was pointed out on the uniforms. Even then I was a bit slow. Yipee.

This is actually a pretty neat deal for the White Sox. It costs them nothing and there will no doubt be some cross promotion that will get White Sox Fans a free Big Gulp with a ticket stub to a game and the team gets paid to boot. Win, win, win!

You obviously do not shop at a 7-11 on the south side. Everything's free with the gun you carry in, the tickets are a bonus.

It's a nice marketing ploy by 7-11. Those who hate comercialization of sports may complain but I think its brilliant.

My first (and so far only) reaction to this was: Why the hell not.

those mock uniforms are hilarious! Why dont the pans say 11 on 'em? That would cap the entire joke off. Go Tigers!!!

As far as marketing ploys go, this is very inobtrusive. We all get annoyed by ads and marketing ploys, but cheers to them for finding one that really won't have much of an effect on us. Nice work Gradys. Should give them those paper, triangle-shaped hats.

Perhaps the Cleveland Indians could use the same marketing strategy.

Well, you almost go blind at the Cell anyways from all the ads, why not change the unis too?

And the importance of this is? Now that they have not made the playoffs and will most likely spiral back down the division ranks, will a later start really make a difference? The fans who all of a sudden showed up when they WERE winning, will be finding something else to do with their time anyway. Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the place where fans used to go during the winning season and the season after...

I love this kitchen sink approach to mass advertising. Leave no stone unturned. It's not that they've run out of ideas - it's that they're just going to do all of them.
