Vanderjagt to Cowboys It was well expected; there was some speculation Vanderjagt might go to the Pats, but so much for that theory.

The Cowboys have lacked a big-time place kicker for too long. This signing along with a hopefully domesticated T.O. substantially improves an already good team. Now if Dallas can get some offensive line help from the draft they should be a solid playoff contender. As a Cowboy Fan this has been a very good week.

Looks like it's time to update my "which of TO's teammates will call him out first" list.

This guy is the most accurate kicker in recent history, except he just can't make the pressure cookers. Even still, the Cowboys needed someone to make at least half of their attempts during the regular season.

It's another hole filled. Finally, going in the right direction.

Awesome. Another kicker thread. As a Giant fan I'm pretty afraid of the Cowboys. I was before this signing, but this certainly helps too, especially since they always play 16-13 games.

No offense Cowboy fans. For pure entertainment, I would love to see Bledsoe miss a wide open TO on third down, the 'boys proceed to attempt a field goal and have Vanderjagt promptly shank it. Be prepared for Tuna Tartare, after Parcells explodes.

Far as I'm concerned, there aren't nearly enough kicker threads.

Far as I'm concerned, there aren't nearly enough kicker threads. i fucking need a jose cortez update.

i fucking need a jose cortez update OK, I'll bite. He signed with Indy.

This guy is the most accurate kicker in recent history, except he just can't make the pressure cookers This seems to be a common belief recently on spofi threads. Other than the one missed kick in the play-offs last year, how many other "pressure" kicks has he missed? Do stats back this up? I'd like to know just how many of these kicks he's missed.

This just in: Josh Brown still with Seahawks.

Josh Brown still with Seahawks. But...He's a free agent and half a dozen teams are chasing him including Rams, Raiders, Redskins and Texans. So, keep us posted, THX!

I just knew I wasn't going to get away with anything. /moves cursor over the log-out next to his handle---sobs quietly

Good change of scenery for him. Now he can load up on Lone Star beer and make stupid comments about Bledsoe.

Okay, I'm going to hunt down some links on kickers, just out of spite.

This is another warning, people. Mouth off about just about anything or anybody and you could get yourself signed to a Dallas Cowboys contract and have to suffer through adjustments to a new tax bracket.

Other than the one missed kick in the play-offs last year, how many other "pressure" kicks has he missed? Well, he missed that one against the Pats to tie at the end of the Thursday opening night game in 2004.

NFL fans are all-emotion, no-brains when it comes to kickers. Vanderjagt's the most accurate kicker in league history. That's huge today when so many coaches play not to lose.

two words. HOLY CRAP. dallas is lookin kinda contraversial with TO and MV...wow

one thing I noticed when they showed the stats on the NFL network tonight side by side is that Vandy is something like 11/13 in the playoffs and Vinatieri is 26/34. He has missed eight times in the postseason. Guess he made some pretty big ones though.

you are only as good as your last kick it seems........

Great signing but what's going on with the "O" line, it's hard to run the ball, make kicks, and complete passes if you're lying on your ass, our biggest need is on the "O" line, I hope they have a plan. GO COWBOYS

This just in: Garo Yepremian is still retired.

The Cold Hard Football Facts analyzed his shanking ways in this article.

This would be a good time to discuss the kickers in the draft.

I've only read one Cold Hard Football Facts article and I'm already tired of the Cold Hard Football Facts shtick where they mention the name of the Cold Hard Football Facts all the time. I know trademarks are expensive, but please ... if you use it too much, you will break it.

Cold Hard Football Facts is just upholding the ludicrous football traditions of being redundantly specific when talking about football. Like, for instance, the incessant need to call it "The Football"- announcers, coaches, players - they all have to call it "The Football", because god knows if they just called it "The Ball" we'd all think they were talking about hockey.

i think its great having a good kicker.indy wanting its kicker to tie last year was a joke. pitts D was too good..(the better team won) having missed the field goal i feel bad for the guy.only wish i could have a pinch out of his signing bonus though...

dbt302 i could' say it any better
