The Week 4 EPL Fantasy League table, with the final results for August (transfer penalties incurred during Week 4 don't apply to the August results, hence the slight difference). These updates might actually be someone else's job, but I've already finished the "crappy table inside".

Does anyone know how to change a formation while swapping a defender out and a forward in? I can't seem to make it happen.

I forgot to welcome "Clay H" to the league, there. Welcome, "Clay H". If it's something other than a matter of unchecking the box by the defender, checking the box by the forward in your Subs area, and hitting "Change Team", I don't know what could be wrong. Unless you're actually trying this as a transfer, which of course you can't do.

Good job taupe. I'm blaming my slightly disappointing performance this week on £32m worth of strikers who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Useless bastards.

wow, 20 pts off the lead and in 3rd place after three weeks is honestly better than I would have projected for myself. and in hindsight having my second choice drafted keeper (Southampton's Jones 24 points) in the lineup instead of Friedel (7 pts) would have me almost right up at the top though I am sure I am not the only one that could benefit from some hindsight.

make that 30 pts. my math skills wane on sunday nights?

bill: Make sure your first choice players are checked, and the subs are unchecked. Then, click the Change Team button. That is the only way.

Great table taupe... My lead will continue to increase. Admit it, i am a god at Fantasy Football.

Despite having all 16 of my squad get at least a point, I still managed a dreadful total. Just remember last season SF - The corpulent one beat you in the very last week, and I'm sure he can do it again.

I have already forgotten about last year...there was nothing there i want to remember. The trophy will be mine!

Are the Sky Sports weekend recap pics always so amusing? (spawned in new windows because they do a wacky auto resize that is annoying enough that I'll save you the trouble of dealing with in your parent window)

I'm doing well. How am I so good at this leauge, yet so bad at the yahoo one?

GOod stuff taupe. Keep up the updates!

Holy shit, gspm...what is WITH THAT resizing!?

posted by StarFucker at 10:29 AM on September 02, 2003

oh, on preview my spawn in new code worked but i guess on publish they override that (why not have option ??). Looking at the code my target="_new" codes are in there but oh well. so yeah, it seems that my effort was wasted.

Stop your suffering!! 1) Download Mozilla Firebird (6.8MB) 2) Set options, as here. 3) Never see another advert, pop-up, javascript resizing or obfuscation ever again. I've been using Firebird for about a month now, and it's absolutely fabulous.

You can just turn all that shit off in IE...

posted by StarFucker at 12:28 PM on September 02, 2003

You don't have this level of control in IE. It's scripting on or scripting off in IE, neither being a good choice.

posted by BigCalm at 12:36 PM on September 02, 2003

OK, Clamster, I'm always up for trying new software. Been using Firebird for half an hour now, love the way I didn't have to set up any connection info, the way it imported my Favourites from IE and the tab browsing. Looking good so far, I must say. Now to disable Pop-Up Stopper and test your claims. ;-) Oh yeah, could you tell me how to set a proxy server, rather than my default server? It may have used the proxy that was set-up already in IE, but I can't see how I can tell?

Turns out one cannot sell a defender and buy a striker--I wrote to their tech support and was told evry team must have a 2-5-5-3 configuration overall but then can adjust the actual lineup out of that. So I'll probably have to do a two step move over two weeks, first dump my defender for someone very cheap, then dump my current sub striker for my intended third striker.

squealy: Tools->options->connection. I'd be suprised if it hasn't already imported your existing proxy settings.

S'OK Clamster I worked it out, and it hadn't imported them as far as I could see. I'm now happily using my pet server in Scotland (those sweaties only just worked out how to switch on the tv, so internet usage is minimal I reckon). And the pop-up stopping is AOK too. :-) Cheers.

For those of you stuck with IE because some necessary sites (oh, like your bank) only work with it but want the tabbed browsing and built-in popup blocking, plus other interesting features, ought to check out SlimBrowser. SB just puts a very cool shell around IE.

After yet another completely random crash on Firebird I've gone and installed Opera. Wow. Polished is the only way to describe this, may even buy it. Coo. Jardel needs to lose some pounds. Lardass.
