I'm still hoping for some kind of plague to descend on SF's squad. Perhaps Howard Wilkinson could give them a team talk or something. Either that or FB's boys could start taking performance-enhancing drugs. Still , it ain't over 'til it's over.

Dum dee dum.. Watch out FB.. Dum dee dum.. Maaan, I need Man Utd to trounce Newcastle. What a sorry state of affairs - having to rely on that sorry lot.. Bah :)

It ain't over you say?!

I personally think we should ignore the first three weeks because they were, erm, ah.. Well, it would make things more interesting ;)

posted by Mossy at 08:47 AM on April 09, 2003

ah crap, so much for me taking some chances.

No, it ain't over SF. I see you as the Wolverhampton Wanderers of SpoFi EPL FL. I predict you will choke badly, beginning next weekend. And, I'm already ahead of you in the MLS competition too. :-P

If we ignored the first 3 weeks for just me, i would have 2040.56. I would still be in first place... If we took away the first 3 weeks from everyone, the top 6 would look like this... Starfucker 2040.56 Mossy 1882.73 pfuller 1855.35 Fat Buddha 1843.94 Trox 1739.14 Corpse 1728.11 worldcup, i have NO idea where you would be right now, i don't feel like figuring out the rest...

posted by StarFucker at 09:27 AM on April 09, 2003

That was a fun exercise, SF. Nice work.

posted by worldcup2002 at 09:31 AM on April 09, 2003

Ahh, but then I'd only have 160 points to catch up, not 240 as Fat Buddha has.. That shall be my goal.. And to join earlier in future fantasy sports, hehe..

posted by Mossy at 07:44 PM on April 09, 2003

btw, you'd have to take 168 pts from me, leaving me with 1664.47 and ... still below the top six you listed, SF. The rest of y'all figure out your own stinking scores.

Talking of MLS, I could swear it said I had 105 points after the game on Saturday, but now I only have 60. WTF is going on??

posted by squealy at 03:38 AM on April 10, 2003

Mossy, old chap you are a dead duck. It was weeks before I worked out how to change my chuffing players and I have been in a pc less state for 5 weeks and unable to change my team. 3 measly weeks missed? Pah!

posted by Fat Buddha at 04:43 AM on April 10, 2003

I noticed that too squealy...i had 50 points, now i have 40!

Great pic Buddha...you should have him saying, "Villa is in the running for the title...all these other clubs will be eaten alive by the snake of Satan..." Or something like that.

posted by StarFucker at 02:01 PM on April 11, 2003

Whoops, what a faux pas, I can claim no credit for the pic, I nicked it from a site run by a Blues fan, I think he did it. Sorry if it looked like I was crediting myself with it.

posted by Fat Buddha at 02:26 PM on April 11, 2003

I'm sorry...what did you say?!

posted by StarFucker at 03:49 PM on April 11, 2003

Oi! Starfucker, who gave you that picture of me in my weekend apparell?

posted by Fat Buddha at 04:53 PM on April 11, 2003

So whats the deal with the Man/Ars game tomorrow... Yahoo has it scheduled for next week. Are we going to get the points this week? Anyone?!

posted by StarFucker at 10:49 AM on April 15, 2003

I thought the Man U v Arsenal game was tomorrow (and was planning to take a long lunch to watch it). And another game on Fri (Man City v Spurs?). So I was holding off on updating the standings. If they play this week, I will wait until Saturday to update this week's scores. Our fantasy league "week" is Saturday to Friday, so if there are games played between now and end of Friday, that will go to this week's score. Can anyone give definitive proof whether either or both games have been postponed, or will they be played this week?

posted by worldcup2002 at 11:58 AM on April 15, 2003

OK, the BBC thinks Man U v Arsenal is on tomorrow and Tottenham v Man City is on Friday. I'd tend to believe the Beeb, wouldn't you?

posted by worldcup2002 at 01:12 PM on April 15, 2003

Thats what i'm saying! But Yahoo has our players scheduled for NEXT week. So i was wondering if you guys knew whether these scores will be this week or next. I've got Vieira and Bergkamp, and they aren't scheduled to play till Saturday according to Yahoo. The Spurs/ManC game seems to be ok.

posted by StarFucker at 02:03 PM on April 15, 2003

Stupid yahoo. Should I just go in and update the standings as is today, and let the other results get caught up next week? Hmmm, sounds like a good idea, rather than expecting Yahoo to do the right and timely thing. As you were.

posted by worldcup2002 at 02:22 PM on April 15, 2003

I dunno... Its up to you, i wasn't worried about the standings. I can see them on Yahoo as they are now, i was just curious.

posted by StarFucker at 02:30 PM on April 15, 2003

Oh sure, you're sweating the points now, aren't ya? Don't have Van Nistelrooy now, do ya? Anyway, I hope Arsenal win tomorrow. Anything but Man U drawing or winning. Go Gunners!

posted by worldcup2002 at 04:05 PM on April 15, 2003

Why do you want Arsenal to win?

posted by StarFucker at 04:16 PM on April 15, 2003

I don't want Arsenal to win, I just want Man Utd to lose (like I want them to lose every game they play). I wonder if wc2002's motives are the same?
