I'll go ahead and apologize for Crasnick's opening paragraph, which is vomit-worthy. Hennigers story is worth it, though, I hope.

Good story. I don't think I'd be able to be out in public after a disfiguring injury like that. Some of his comments sound -- to me, at least -- like false bravado.

I've always enjoyed the phase when kids are old enough to communicate with people but too young to have a self-censor. One time my kids and I were at Target, and my son said "that guy is really old." Within earshot of said guy. When I pointed out that this was rude, he replied, "do you think he doesn't know?"

...and isn't that what it's all about? Henninger had the inner strength all along to survive this and to come out of it stronger. All of the whiners and complainers that inhabit this earth need to read this.
