If this was in the last century, namely a 5 game series, the Mavs would have reason to be concerned. But today, no prob.
Did the Mavericks win 67 games or did Golden State? I am sure starting Nowitzski as center had nothing to do with their loss. The Mavericks should be concerned. It doesn't matter how many games you win, or whoever your go-to player is. The Warriors seem to built and trained to beat the Mavericks. Golden State has beaten the Mavs seven out of the last eight games and if i'm not mistaken, correct me if i am, they have won those seven games straight. I have the Mavs winning in seven games, but i'm pretty confident that the Warriors can win this matchup. As long as Baron Davis keeps that beard and playing style, he's the key to beating the Mavericks.
Dallas shot 35%, and I really don't think that was because of a stifling Warriors defense. The shooting was beyond horrendous. It's a seven-game series, and plenty of time for the Mavs to get their shot together. I would be beyond shock if the Warriors actually won this series.
If the Warriors win this series it will be one of the three biggest upsets in the last 23 years, seeding-wise, alongside the No. 8 Knicks beating the No. 1 Heat in 1999 and the No. 8 Nuggets beating the No. 1 Supersonics in 1994. But this would be the first such upset in a seven-game series. All of the talk I'm hearing -- Arnie Spanier on Sporting News Radio has proclaimed the series "over" -- seems pretty ridiculous to me. The Mavs are too good to lose four times to the Warriors.
" The Mavs are too good to lose four times to the Warriors." ...why not? they've already lost seven, what's 3 more?
