Sonics are Oklahoma City-bound "The transition and move of this team begins tomorrow morning," Bennett said in Oklahoma City, where he announced that season ticket sales for the soon-to-be named franchise at Ford Center would begin Thursday.

Ring it up! Celtics crush Lakers for 17th title There were legendary Celtics sitting in the stands, with names like Russell, Havlicek, Heinsohn, Maxwell, Ainge, and White, who could all tell stories about the days when they touched the NBA championship trophy, sprayed champagne on each other, and watched Red Auerbach proudly puff on a victory cigar. After a 22-year wait that included the retirement of Larry Bird, lots of lean years, and the death of Auerbach, the Celtics have new legends named Pierce, Allen, and Garnett, who now can tell their stories about touching the trophy, spraying champagne, and wishing Red were here to witness it.

Warriors Beat Mavericks in Series Opener The eighth-seeded Golden State Warriors pulled a huge upset on the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks Sunday, beating them for the fourth time this season. Mavs Coach Avery Johnson is being criticized for changing to a centerless, small-ball lineup. "Why is the top seed in the entire tournament allowing Golden State to dictate the matchups?" asks Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Randy Galloway.

Bulls Win! Bulls overcome the Heat in game 1.

I called this ( the Bulls beating the Heat in the East come play-off time ) at the beginning of the season, most my friends laughed at this statement defending a team I think to be one of the most overated. That same day the champs got whupped by 42 points. the Bulls have the necissary ingredients to win the East. Experience ( P.J., Big Ben ) and youthfull exuberance ( Sefolosha, Thomas ), the improving Loul Deng, all those energetic slashing jump shooters ( Henrich, Noc, Duhon ) a mini "assassin" in Ben Gordon, plus the ability to hit the three. but the main reason I like them in the post season, is that they play defense. I think the Bulls have what it takes to take the defending champs down for the count. Wierd, because I never liked the Bulls, even in the Jordan era, but I like THIS team. With the additions of Big Ben and Tyrus Thomas they won me over. I'm glad they didnt break it up to get Gasol.
Chicago Plays Rings Around Miami After Championship Party In 1982, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Golden State Warriors 132-117, a 15-point loss that was the worst ever by a defending champ in a season opener -- until last night. The Miami Heat followed an hour-long ring presentation and banner-raising ceremony with a 42-point loss to the Chicago Bulls. "We have been conditioned to accept the notion that these 82 regular-season games do not matter much to the Heat," writes Miami Herald columnist Greg Cote. "But we are now reminded, with some certainty, that these games will matter very much to Miami's opponents. All 82 of them."

Scott Carefoot, I called this one too. Bulls take the Heat this year and could go all the way on defense, depth and athletism. not a fan of either team--just an observer. when I told my friends this before the game everyone told me they were a sub par .500 team that was going no-where near the champs, who got completely exposed in that game. but this is more than just the wishfull thinking from the Ben Wallace addition, look down the line and you'll see what I mean, a couple of solid veterans, size and rebounding up front, peremiter shooting plus penetration and youthfull exuberance. As far as Tyrus Thomas getting schooled by rcade--your right, he WILL make mistakes. but his rawness shows Amare like potential, we'll just have to wait and see but I think this kid will be exciting to watch. ...watch out for the Bulls this year, thats all I'm saying.
Lamar Odom's infant son dies Words cannot express how sorry I am. My thoughts and prayers are out there for Lamar and his family.

truly sad, I am a huge fan of Lamar, his card is wedged into the top of my computer speaker staring back at me right now and his figurine adorns my dresser. As someone who has helped raise two children from birth I can only imagine how he and his family are feeling. I wish them the MOST LOVE to get through this rough time...
NBA Owner Feels the Heat Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban, who became $250,000 poorer today: "The games are not rigged. Thats a complete insult to the players on the court and the incredible amount of effort they put into preparing for and playing the games. All 82 regular season and post season games. The NBA couldnt rig the games if it wanted to. David Stern couldn't find his rear-end with a GPS receiver. You think he could fix a game? Free Jerry Stackhouse! Dwyane Wade committed a back court violation! Get HDTV! Go Mavs!"

Last I checked refs would'nt let a close game in the play-offs be decided by a rinky-dink foul, you had to really hammer a guy. in the replays Dirk is obviously nowhere near Wade, (I think it was) Howard might have got him on the leg. I watched Duncan get clobbered towards the end of a game in this years series v.s. the Mavs & there was no call, sending the game to o.t. Now I am no fan of the Mavs orSan Antoinio, but there has to be someconsistency. Even though I don't like him, Cuban has a right to be pissed at the officiating ( did anyone see Shaq break Stackhouses' nose or hard foul him with his arms sending him to the ground later in the same game? Jerry was COMPLETELY justified delivering that hard foul. That's just basketball right there, and those plays should be remembered by the league when it comes to handing out suspesions or fines. Is the answer a instant replay system? Maybe a couple a game for each team with a challenge system like football can of worms? what does everyone think? We need something to NOT have a rinky dink call affect a championship.
As for the name, I'm partial to Oklahoma Sexuals. ...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! genuis.
